It's not that I want kids playing Manhunt 2. It's just that I feel that the felony part is WAY to extreme and the whole political oversight thing seems a bit too, I don't know, fascist. Way too easy to abuse.

Felony? Ouch, that's a bit over-the-top.

Election time does strange things to Congress. Need to drum up a bit of support? Attack everybody's favorite scapegoat.

*edit: Somewhere Jack Thompson is having an evilgasm.

Nanny State strikes again! But don't worry, they're doing it for the children, I mean after all, why should parents take responsibility for their little brats? Just let the state handle it at taxpayers expense and everything will be fine.

Oh you're against it, well you must hate children then!

And if you'd like to see more, just elect Hillary Clinton into office in 2008. The Nanny State: insuring parents can be just as irresponsible as children since 1983.

Oh you're against it, well you must hate children then!

Well, yeah, you got me there...:p

"Republicans, Democrats Agree"

This is why it's not such a good idea to always vote for the same two parties.

Not trying to target America here; other countries are guilty of the same.

Yea, but it's hard for a third party to get in because the Republicans and Democrats have made it hard for a third party to get in. Why, to ensure that they stay in power of course.

It's the responsibility of everyone to reject this kind of dominion. Those in power are so because people allow them to be.

Hence the "M" rating (I don't know anything about it, it may well warrant the Adults Only). It isn't like these companies are being deceptive in advertising (if they advertise these games at all), Rockstar makes no bones about it: their games are for mature audiences only.

I don't think it's the game maker's fault that parents won't learn and use the ratings system that was devised over a decade ago.

I like how you blame the Republicans and Democrats for something that totally isn't their fault. 2-party systems are a natural occurance in a Democratic system, since they are the product of factions allying to attempt to get what they want.

I do feel that the makers are partially responsible for giving politicians an excuse to go on yet another power trip.

I wouldn't even pirate the first game it was so messed up. Putting it on the Wii would be all sorts of screw up. I would say this is a little extreme, but they are going to do what every one else does - the parents will just buy it for the kids. I was in the dentist's office this morning and a hyperactive 10 year old asked his grandmother to buy it for him. Wait, it wasn't manhunt, but it was some equally screwed up game that that little kid shouldn't have.

What everyone here should really be worried about is the ESRB oversight provision.

Ok, then how come the Libertarian Party in every election since the creation of the party has to petition the state government to get their party on the ballot? Meanwhile the Democrats and Republican, all they have to do is sit back, pick their guy and watch the election unfold. Let's also not forget that the state government can refuse to allow a third party to put their guy on the ballot in their state, and who controls pretty much all level of the government? You got it buddy boy, the R and D.

Thank you!

It's the parents responsibility to raise and care for their children, that yes that does mean supervising which game they can buy, espically if the rating for that game is above their age limit. It's not the state responsibility, it's not the video game company responsibility, it's the parents responsibility.

To Parents: It's time to man up and start actually paying attention, raising, and taking care of your little brats, I don't want my tax money to go towards something that you should be doing in the first place!

Are you actually saying that only the Republican and Democratic parties have the right to run for election? In the "land of the free"? I thought it was just a control-of-the-media thing making it hard for alternative parties to get attention.

In order to get on the ballot, a third party has to petition the government to let them onto the ballot, and the government can refuse to let them on. Why do you think my party is having a ballot drive across the nation?
