Blunt song 'most irritating'
ITN
ITN - Monday, June 25 09:37 am
James Blunt's hit You're Beautiful has been voted the most irritating song of all time in a web poll.
The single had a five-week run in Britain and it was number one in 11 other countries when it was released in 2005.
It shot the ex-military man to worldwide stardom across the globe, bagging him a Grammy nomination and a Brit Award.
Crazy Frog by Axel came second in the poll, followed by Mmp Bop - a hit for brotherly rock group Hanson in 1997.
John Sewell, of market researchers onepoll.com, said: "James Blunt isn't the obvious choice, but any song that is at number one for so long does start to get annoying."
The most recent song in the poll was Grace Kelly by Mika, while the oldest was Lulu's 1994 smash Shout.
I think this is a poll I could wholeheartedly agree with!
So....most annoying song...
At present I'll stick with the majority...

there must be more annoying songs than that, it's annoying because it was played that much and hyped etc, but otherwise it would just be another mediocre pop-song.

'Get this party started' or whatever its called. God. It seems like every radio station played that song at least four times a day. And no, I couldnt change the station because I was on the school bus and 14 at the time.
Oh, and some pop song my dad likes which consists soley of a single repeated line of music and the words "Sendin' out an S.O.S" about a hundred times.

Don't forget that song "Born in the USA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPudiBR15mk)". It spends most of the song repeating those words, just "Born in the USA" again and again and again, in the same tune.
I
HATE
THAT
SONG
I too had to listen to that everyday while on a school bus, and it wasn't even popular anymore. This was in the last ten years.

Springsteen has actually changed that song, apparently he significantly cut down on the number of times "Born in the USA" was repeated.

But Shirley Bassey's cover of it makes it all worthwile. Brilliance! :D
(Alas, not on Youtube properly yet.)
Edit: ...But if you're brave enough to venture onto Shirley Bassey's MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/shirleybassey), you can play the song in the Flash player on the right.
