If you read the bible all the way through you'll notice that, there's alot of friggin violence. It's all about this kind of stuff. But thats not really the same as being at war with another country.

That's a matter of definition. If a government sends troops to fight in a foreign country, it's commonly referred to as war. I know that the legal definition can differ from that, but the essential act is the same.

Every country on earth (except maybe canada) is involved in some kind of war.

Canadians have fought with distinction in practically every war the British Empire has been involved in. They fought off two invasions of their country from the United States, they fought in many colonial wars, they fought in WWI, they fought in WWII and played a critical role in the Allied D-Day invasion, and in contemporary times they take part in various world peacekeeping activities.

Allah also approves of it, especially when it is waged against corrupt Western powers who steal His followers' natural resources and sell them at ridiculous prices to their own struggling middle-class.

People go to war for many reasons:
Resources (land labour resources etc)
Moral (the other people are evil, ethnically similar people in their country are oppressed/want independence etc)
Religious (they are heathens etc)
If they are stronger than the other people then war is a viable alternative and it makes sense to go to war because negotiation takes time and never works as well as a successful war because both sides need to agree with negotiation and only one side needs to agree after (or during) a successful war.
Of course, after the war then the victors can say anything they like about the people they conquered such as the Roman accounts of the Carthaginians.

You're not actually arguing that WWI or WWII were good for Britain, are you?

You know, people complain about the French and British reaction to Hitler's belligerence, but fact of the matter is that WWI was a phyrric victory at best. If substantial percentages of certain age groups are either dead or crippled, that doesn't do much good for the future. I can understand that they were sorta hesitant to get back into the whole thing yet again.

And WWII just relegated Britain from world power to appendix (more or less ;) ).

The world is a great, big, giant, fucked up oxi moron. There is no such thing as a peace keeping mission because you have to go through war get it, not one nation in the world is peaceful, yet some say they are. And noone calls war a war anymore. They call it a peace keeping mission, or a military action, or aiding, or a dispute, or an international incedent. So if you look at it closely, there is no war, only a bunch of soldiers killing other soldiers. And the reason there is so much because all of the good hippies are dead, old, or high. What war really is, is a dispute between nation leaders. The countries leaders, have the children of their nation go off to war because the president doesn't like something about a nation. We could have solved every war by putting the two nation leaders in a arena to fight to the death.:D:p

The world is a great, big, giant, fucked up oxi moron. There is no such thing as a peace keeping mission because ...

And noone calls war a war anymore. They call it a peace keeping mission, or a military action, or aiding, or a dispute, or an international incedent. So if you look at it closely, there is no war, only a bunch of soldiers killing other soldiers. Of course you are right..

Some military operations are disguised as "peacekeeping"
In principle a peacekeeping operation should Never be designed to change/ or impose a new situation.

The 3 keys of true peace-keeping are:

#1 Both sides have agreed to a cease fire
#2 Both sides (apparently) want peace and
#3 Both sides agree to the Peace keepers being deployed

That is absolutely not the case of Afghanistan.

The countries leaders, have the (poor) children of their nation go off to war because the president doesn't like something about a nation. We could have solved every war by putting the two nation leaders in a arena to fight to the death.I agree 100%

If you write in the constitution "the Children of Gov (3 branches) must be drafted (in the same % as the recruited low income families) for every War".. we would have much less stupid wars.

War, never been so much fuuuun,

Go up to your brother,

Leave him lying in his uniform,
Dying in the sun!

WAR!

(12 points to whoever identifies that :D)
So much fun! Never liked anything else about the game :D

Hmm...I think I still have the .mod file lying around on my HDD

War is easier and simpler then diplomacy.

Yes it is easier... but the path of bloodshed always is... not even christians these days seem to care that people they love go out and die in these power struggles :( some would say its time for Revelations to start that we are at war because it is Gods plan... some would say its mans fault... thats a true statement in itself. but Diplomacy requires compromise, communication, and hours of hitting your head against a wall because people have diffrent ways of handling things :headbang: in our world the reason war is so much easier is because we are greedy, lustful, power hungry, sometimes racist, sexist, our culture or religion is diffrent ... honestly i don't care if you worship Shiva or satan himself the deities tell us that these are wrong even satan says its wrong to do.... in excess... so quiet honestly this war is nothing more then men being foolish and men

ok, so let me get this straight.

:rolleyes:Every country on earth is involved in either a war with another country, or a civil type of war.

:rolleyes:God Endorses war, but is not he pope (who is actually the one who declares holy wars).

:rolleyes:God is now a duche (wiether he did anything to you or not)

 British slobs think tht war is good for them, and tht they aparently won the war of 1812!?!?!?!

 more and more countries are retaining nuclear weapons and stockpiling them.

 and some idoiuts atcually think war is a fun thing!?!?!?!?!!

What the fuck is wrong with you people. War is bad, it always has been. It's just a shame tht man cannot survive without it.

nope, there is definetly no sign of intellegent life on this planet. :headbang:

1st Comment: Of course they did. You were ACTUALLY under the impression we WON the War of 1812 (unless you're speaking of one of the Napoleonic wars which occurred in 1812)!?!?!? The British beat the living crap out of us in that war. The only really big big victory was after the war was over, which is General Jackson's victory.

2nd Comment: Is there anything necessarily wrong with this? Don't you think it's better to have them then to NOT have them? Nuclear weapons are always the #1 deterrent to nuclear war.

3rd Comment: If you didn't notice, this isn't the United Nations building. It's a game. War in games is, as it turns out, fun. I have no idea why you WOULDN'T enjoy war in games.

Yet that will never happen because they have to pass it. And I don't think they will.

Canada is participating in the Afghanistan War. Even if most Canadians do not want any part of that War.

That war is not blue helmets stuff.. its not "Peacekeeping"

The war in Afghanistan is a NATO run peacekeeping operation. You only wear blue helmets if you are on a UN run peacekeeping operation. The lack of blue helmets doesn't make it not peacekeeping.

There are many other examples. The forces in Darfur aren't wearing blue helmets either. That is an African Union run peacekeeping operation. The forces that first went into Kosovo didn't wear blue helmets, that was initially a NATO run operation.

Where are you getting that list? It is bunk. The operations in Somalia, Bosnia, etc. were all called "peacekeeping", and they don't meet your list at all.

That's because it was a war! No a friggin peace keeping run!

In that case we come again to my list being valid, as it doesn't meet Oceandrive's definitions, and therefore he needs to remove half of South America from his list.

:confused:Why is this world so obsessed with war? Every country on earth (except maybe canada) is involved in some kind of war. And you can't even wage war on this game.

 :mp5:

Canada is involved in Afghanistan.

It also bombed another nation without getting UN approval in advance (Kosovo).

The history of humanity is largely a history of war. Did you go to school?

Considering that the OP is accepting for the purposes of this thread "peacekeeping operations" such as just about all of those around the world as "being at war", the list goes on...

Argentine, El Salvador, Honduras, and Uruguay have troops in Western Sahara.

Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay have troops in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Uruguay have over 1500).

Brazil, Chile, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay have troops in Sudan.

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, and Peru have troops in Haiti.you could argue they are not Peace-keeping.. but

#1 You saying "Bolivia is at war in Congo" is not accurate either.. and likewise for your other examples.

#2 If you tell me that to be considered "at war" you need to have 20 operatives in another country. It means The US is waging several wars all over the World.

To be able make up my mind (numbers and context).. I would like you to show us your links. about the 4 operations.

1 We still came out with OUR COUNTY
not some colony of britain.

2 You do have a point there.

3 well then people need to learn were the line lies between reality and games!!!!
If they spend all day playing video games and killing people, they're gonna like it. But then when they have to grow up they'll think tht war is just a silly game.:headbang: War in the real world is BAD!!!! It needs to end, if war would just end then maybe poorer countries could start focussing their powers on building an actuall economy. Then people would be able to play war videogames more, instead of haveing to grow up!!!

What you don't understand is that sometimes war can help an economy. The United States as an example: We were in a crap hole before WW2, and afterwards, we were in a boom.

Do you even know what the idea for the War of 1812 was? We declared war on them because of several incidents, including the seizure of our ships and sailors. Our capital was sacked. Our army was majorly defeated. Our forts were basically under siege. But we fixed it diplomatically with the Treaty of Ghent. This treaty made things as they were before the war. It wasn't a colonial war.

Don't forget we burned down the Canadian capital too :D (actually, that is why they burned Washington, in revenge for our burning their capital).

However, countries that make a habit of going about and disrupting the world aren't likely to be liked by investors—who like stability, forecastability, tranquillity, growth-ity, itty, bitty. . . (sorry, Family Guy moment)—and will probably suffer from a relapse in their economies. In NS, where there are lots of countries with options for big returns, this is even more poignant, because you can basically re-invest in a new country with a strong economy with no real change, but in the real world, there are few options, and that's the only reason investors will still go to the US even if this war thing becomes a big pattern in the years to come.
