Nexus War, if that counts. I'll pay for an online game over my dead body.

Which of course just means Korean MMO because they are all the same besides graphic style (which often isn't different either), "story" (because there is no real story), and classes. The gameplay is always the same.

Earth and Beyond was the greatest MMORPG of all time.

Then I'd say Ragnarok and WoW come in second place for me. Ragnarok was very enjoyable for how simple it was, and WoW was... Well I loved it but it stole a good 8 days from my life that I'll never get back. As in, I spent 192 hours on it.

I put EVE in last place.

Brits have yet to make a decent video game.

I can truly say that I have never played any online game that was as well-constructed, beautiful, and addicting. It has a wonderful community of people, amazing depth... Everything you could possibly want from a MMORPG. It's got me wishing I had more character slots.

Jorm's making a new game too. It's meant to be much better than Nexus War.

Yeah, I'm excited about it too. I'm also looking forward to the flying city or whatever if people join. I'm thinking of deleting my Sorcerer and making a Wyrm Master, but then I'd have to leave the High Knights of Liberation, which is a faction full of a bunch of really great guys, so I'm loath to. One question: What are cults going to be?

Wow... To prove just how awesome the Nexus War community is, I told one of my character's faction leader I had to leave to restart another character, and he gave me enough credits to start a new one without leaving. Does that blow your mind, or what? real money, that he just gave some anonymous person on the internet.

WoW :) I spent two years playing, gave it up approx 3 months ago and am about to get a new subscription. It's a lot of fun, and you meet some truly lovely people online. Of course, it attracts its fair share of planks and tossers too, but they're easily ignored.

there'll be acult for the 9 gods, 3 for each alignment. Only T3s can join, and there tasks and gifts you can buy for cult points, like skills. I tihnk. And possibly you get more CP. Which means my VW will be joining right away.

EvE-Online is Icelandic.

It's obvious why you didn't like it though; you loved WoW. EvE and WoW are the anti-thesis of each other, honestly.

I stated on Everquest way back in the day and it was pretty nifty. Dark Age of Camelot was good for like a month. Star Wars Galaxies will always be one of my favorites despite the bugs. Right now WOW is definitely at the top of my list.

I played Matrix Online too! What server were you on? I was on Recursion under MetaLogic.

I think the problem with me and MMOs is that they either have too little to do, their mission/quest system gets boring and repetitive after awhile, or the community just isn't that good. I would like an MMO that not only have quests but other things too like skills, politics (just an example) and non-instanced housing wouldn't hurt.

Indeed, it was wonderful. RP was great too. I gave a great eulogy for Morpheus, had the others in my faction in tears.

I just couldn't stick with it when I ran out of money. Probably could afford it now, but I don't remember where my beta key went, so I would have to start without hyperjump.

Does Capcom's consil game for the PS2 Monster Hunter count? It's got both a single player and multiplayer MMO style play and is very fun. Few games are as innovative as that one... your a caveman in afantasy world who runs around, kills dinosaurs, and turns them into weapons, armor, and other RPG necesities.

Not a fan of Peter Molyneux? Not even dungeon keeper?

Dungeon Keeper must have been about his last good game. And, more on topic, its multiplayer mode sucked.

The MMORPG I liked most was Dark Age of Camelot in its glorious days - before the expansion packs came out, or probably including the first one. (However, to be fair, if they hadn't been released, I probably would still not play it anymore. Even for an MMORPG, you can only have fun for so long with the same game. Except for Master of Magic :) )

Eve Online was good for a year or so, I'd recommend that to anyone.

WoW was just dull. Nothing to do (other than "go and kill twenty skeletons! Done? Brilliant! Go and kill twenty zombies! Done that, too? Woo, wolves now. Finished? Right, get in the queue to kill that boss!)... Glad I played a character on a friend's account for a few hours rather than buying the game :p

They're the only two I've tried, but Pirates of the Burning Sea might be worth a shot when it's out.
