Yes. I'm going to Eastern Europe within a few hours with a youth orchestra I play in. I'll be gone for two weeks. We'll be going to Hungary, Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland and performing there. Yeah. That's basically it.

I'd say get a blog, but I'd rather let you turn this thread into something useful and talk about all the kickass places your going to visit.

the Polish and Czech people i know insist that their countries are in Central Europe not Eastern Europe. that was news to me though, i always thought of anywhere east of Berlin as Eastern Europe.

BTW, Poland, Austria, and Czech Republic are in Central Europe. Not Eastern. We don't want to be in the same category as those damned Russians!

When you're in Prague, I suggest a visit to the Museum of Communism. Very educational on the effects of Soviet occupation on the former Czecheslovakia. The curator wrote a very interesting book on the subject you can buy at the gift shop. Pick it up, it's a great souvenier.

Remember to eat an [un]healthy dose of keilbasa, bleenies, and perogies!

If you go to Budapest, the statue graveyard is worth a look.
