You know, I've watched both episodes so far and I was going to comment that conservatives can relax, it isn't enough just to make fun of Bush, it really does have to be actually funny-and man, that show isn't. There where some minorly clever moments in the camp rivalry thing in there that bordered on insightful commentary, but for the rest of it it's like an uninspired South Park.

Jokes about Condi Rice pining for W are really about as tired as the ones about Janet Reno pining for Clinton (where at least Clinton had the ladies man thing going for him), making Cheney sound like the Penguin works with the self effacing Jon Stewart but doesn't really have the legs in a cartoon. It kind of goes on, relying on the 'of course Jeb is retarded' for the laugh instead of any actual effort.

Here's what caring about the troops means--it means making sure they get the health care they need when they come home wounded. It means they get a pay raise. It means they get the equipment they need when they go into danger. It means not sending them into danger unless it's abso-fucking-lutely necessary.

I think "not caring about the troops" includes(in his own little world):

-disagreeing with the president lies to the world, because the president should be respected and believed at all times, especially when naughty ol' Moslems want to bring down the civillized world.
-wanting to bring troops home safely, because caring for their safety is demoralizing to their efforts!
-wanting to provide a raise, and more benefits for the troops....wait.. I can't even bullshit this one

Yet, you see he supports the politicians that want the exact opposite of supporting the troops. He supports a deranged leaders, that sends innocent young men and women into needless danger, without the proper equipment, and then when they get back, they are immediately redeployed for another 18 months. Those three stripes are for a specific rank, I'm not a military fetishist and haven't been in, so I don't know which one. But that last thing even in the picture is a word and not a stripe, and in the flash you could see it said Canada.

Canada people use the same insignia for rank for both the army and teh navy below flag rank. She's a captain. I think the shirt is supposed to look light green.

All things told, this is one hell of a mole-hill mountain. Not the biggest, but you have to admire the effort.

Well the easiest way to do a screen cap is to alt+print screen. Then paste into paint. You can save it as a .bmp which keeps the quality. Then to upload it you'll want to compress it otherwise it'll be huge. .JPG is a pretty common compression method, and it's alright, but it loses detail badly. .GIF is a larger file type generally but retains much more detail. .PNG is pretty good compression and it retains detail nicely.

All things told, this is one hell of a mole-hill mountain. Not the biggest, but you have to admire the effort.

It's all they have. Look at the right side of the blogosphere--they have to create controversies out of this kind of shit because their guy is sitting at 26% approval right now. 26%. So they hunker down and they tell themselves that Pelosi doesn't care about the troops because someone on her staff made a poor choice of pictures for a website. They don't talk about how she's getting funding done that their people wouldn't in 2001-2006. They don't talk about the fact that the reason soldiers in Iraq don't have up-armored Humvees is because they wouldn't pay to have them made, or that the reason Walter Reed is such a shithole is because they privatized much of it, or that the reason there's such crappy aftercare for wounded vets and for those suffering from PTSD is because it was more important for them to fund Star Wars and other similar shit.

That's a nice rant and everything but, although I don't know the OP very well, I hope you're not suggesting those are his motives unless you know him reasonably well. As for right-wing bloggers, though - I find them to be far more concerned about Election '08 than Pres. Bush's approval rating. :p But that's a large group of people, and it could be true of some of them.
