So this type of zombie should exist because humanity would be completely screwed? No offense, but I'm glad you're not in charge of creating new creatures.

I think there should be a kind of zombie where zombification is caused by a transgenic virus that doesn't kill the host but rather mutates him/her's body fuctions so that he/she's innate desires are changed from eating, sex, seeking pleasure to spreading the virus, the virus in it's first stage infects only the lower part of the brain and shuts the rest off as it prepares the upper half for mutation and reactivation, at this stage the zombie is a typical one moaning with it's arms stretched out and plodding around in search of victims. The second phase is where the rest of the brain is infested restoring the individual mentally and maybe spiritually only with the desires replaced. At this point the zombie is intelligent, is mentally the way he/she was previous to the infestation, can mix in to crowds, acts human and use trickery and past knowledge to lure in victims. This is where things suck for humanity because it'll be hard discerning smart zombies from humans. The third phase is where the DNA is manipulated further to produce things to make the creature more deadly like spines, extra arms and larger muscles.

That actually sounds quite spooky, and as I understand the movie coming out soon 28 weeks later has some time of mutated zombie which has been able to develop to avoid detection. As I understand also, don't some animals, like parasites or the like, like only with a need to spread themselves and their seed?

Not completely screwed, I think the normal zombies are boring. I think this zombie should be used in movies. In the new Battlestar Galactica they made it so that the evil Cylon robots now had synthetic biological human (they were made by synthetic enzymes and chemicals to look biologically human but were still controlled by the cylons who had nano nearons in them)looking cylons to make things interesting. I think there should be zombies that are as I described above to make things interesting. Plus the plot will be more than "OH NOES ZOMBIES! *kills them*". There'd actually be drama and places to put plot twists. There might be a lady killin' zombies who suddenly fins her lover alive and well and it turns out that he was putting the virus in the water holes in nearby towns and he was about to do it in the town she was in bu she stopped him or a military base suddenly has zombies everywhere and the officers are baffled since no zombies were neaby yet, or so it seemed until a soldier who was assumed dead mysteriously reappeared and requested to return to his former duties and ended up being a phase 2.

If your talking about a new type of zombie for movie, I would say you would have to make it have it's own thing so to speak, the current slow moaning zombies stumbling around were so great in Resident Evil and the like because the whole thing of having people defending with guns against a horde of zombies is just really cool. I liked the 28 days later zombies, their not like undead flesh eater, but people infected with a virus (rage) which makes them like road rage x1000000000 (thats how the director explained it).

No. A better zombie would be a parasite zombie. Some creature latches onto the head and takes over the body. And uses the victims chest to incubate its offspring. And it would have to come in several different varieties or it would get really boring really fast. There'd have to be fast zombies and big bloated zombies in addition to the regulars.

A possible addition is a psychic "connection", so all these smart zombies can communicate telepathically. The only thing worse than Smart Zombies is Smart Zombies that are coordinating their efforts perfectly on a global scale.

Also, another could be that Phase one Zombies could morph into either phase 2 or 3 (either spies or monsters) directly, as going from sleek undercover Zombie to massive boss-style undead seems a bit weird.

A big question I have is that is this virus violent or classy? (I.e. Start launching massive zombie-horde attacks on major cities, or subtly trying to infiltrate and infect as many people as possible before revealing itself to the world?) Both have been done before (Classy infiltration is the whole concept behind the Amimorphs books, and most vampire-in-city movies)

Also, how is this virus transmitted? Through touch? Through bites? Through tainted food? Through injection?

Pretend that the "virus" puts them under the control of a psychopathic maniac bent on world domination. Not as horror-ish as most Zombie movies, but it might work

It starts out violent and then once many of them reach the second phase only the 1st phasers are attacking in hordes, the 2nd phasers are staying back waiting for the right time to strike but in the meantime plotting on how to spread the virus, this is where the subtle attempts to infect people without detection comes in. The virus is transmitted through bites, tainted food, injection, basically anything that involves having the bodily fluids of a zombie mix with yours you become one of them in a few hours.

By plotting, do you mean war-council style or individual endeavors (simply, are they evil people secretly subverting society or ordinary people who simply feel the need to spread it?)

No. I forgot to mention stage 2A - the lesbian phase. At the point where the hot-zombies are just reaching infinite hotness - they have a short and very public lesbian phase where new females are infected.
