That's extraordinary.

It's interesting the number of times we hear of people doing amazing things despite having had teachers who told them they'd amount to nothing. Maybe assholery really is a useful trait in the right sort of context.

By the way this reminded me of IBM's famous little exercise in hubris when they spelled out the company name using individual xenon atoms (the letters below are 5 nanometres tall):
