I have been thinking, do you in think that George Orwell's theory of 'perpetual war', that is a political ideological war with no clear end, and is used by the state to keep people in line, maintain control through fear, and denouce opposition is infact this current 'war on terror', just like the Cold War?

No, the War on Terror is nothing like the Orwellian Perpetual War.

Perhaps you should re-read 1984 and pay close attention to the discourse on the theory.

Eh, some parallels do exist.

Not sure what I'm trying to get at here.

Have a nice day.
