So I was talking to a friend the other day when 6 people started beating up my mother in law.

The friend asked "shouldn't you intervene?"

And I replied "nah, 6 people is enough"

Joke originally made by Bernard Manning, R.I.P

Controversial entertainer Bernard Manning has died at the age of 76.

The sad demise of the last comedian to stick two fingers up at the 'PC Brigade' (whatever that might mean) or a case of 'good riddance to the racist pig?'.

Never heard of him.

A mixture of both. He made some good gags but he kept being offensive for the sake of it, and it wasn't really funny IMHO.

To give my own opinion, I must say that I'm unsure what to think of him. Most of his act was rather funny. Given how far attitudes have moved on since he started, the racist element of his act (which was by no means his entire act) might be said to be acceptable in a sort of postmodern way I guess. However, from interviews it is unclear whether he himself actually was a racist.

I think it was Channel 4 that had a show where he went to India...He was indeed a racist. Old school.

"One kiddy on Cake, cried all the water out of his body. Just imagine how his mother felt. It's a fucking disgrace!

You can puke yourself to death on this stuff - one girl threw up her own pelvis-bone...

What a fucking disgrace"

His finest moment. Or Chris Morris'?

Sounds like Carlos Mencia, except for the funny part.

Never speak ill of the dead.

Though in his case we should make an exception.

Indeed he was. Despite his claims to the contrary, that he made racist jokes but meant no offence.

For the benefit of the younger crowd, who was Bernard Manning?
A comic of the lowest order.

And an eejit that was hilariously caught out by Chris Morris.

A vile, racist "comedian" who's heyday was in the oh so tolerant times of the 70s

Though wiki's a charm:

Fuck me, Bernard Manning dies and barely anyone notices. I was going to go to his club with my mates to see how racist his act really was, seeing as he was shunned from TV before I was born. Saying that, I caught some of a Roy Chubby Brown video once and that was fucking horrible so maybe I haven't missed much :p

Yeah Roy Chubby Brown is the least funny comedian I have ever seen. Bernard was a lot funnier then him.
