What do you do in your free time?

When you find yourself with a little down time, what do you do? I usually stare off into space until someone asks me whats wrong and ruins the moment. Or I will relax and read a good book.

I have the weekends off and usually spend them at my local dropzone skydiving (or just enjoying the banter when the weather is bad). Other than that I just go to the gym and swim or read a book or come on here

I sometimes go throgh wal-mart pretending to have torrets to freak people out. Example:

Aisle 9, Morristown Wal-Mart

Lady: How much does this cost?

Employee: I don't know, let me see...

Lady: Oh here it is-

Me: Goddamn I'm horny.....

Lady: *stunned gasp*

Employee: *pulls out radio* "Security!"

Me: Fuck.....! I have no idea where I am, are you God?

I recently had to quit because:
A. I kept getting thrown out of wal-mart
B. Pretended to have torrets around someone who actually had torrets (really embarassing)
C. It was just so 'effing retarded.

I'm not sure you understand the condition you play

Guitar and internet. I read paper novels, maybe 5 or 6 hours a week, but that's been on the decline since I was a kid. Probably due to the amount of time spent online. :p I guess if I had all the text I read online in paperback format, it'd be a pretty thick volume each day.

"Pull out a porno"? What decade are you living in...

I don't leave it lying around, my mother has a tendency to just 'pop' in on occasion. And she thinks porn makes women look bad. If she saw it she would slap me silly. "What is this?", "Porn...", "You godless sonofabitch!" At which point I laugh, and then she slaps me.

There's a strange thing about being retired - you start doing all those things that you put on hold when you were working - like deep cleaning the house, finishing the novel, contacting old friends, visiting all the local places you neglected when working, moving, looking for work, social obligations, learning new skills .... Turns out I have less free time now than when I was working.

So, do you slap the cat, or does the cat slap you? And which one of you has the porno?
The cat gets spanked. Then i get chomped on the ankles at some point.
And there's an extremely personal anecdote regarding the porno that i'll skip for now, and instead point out that i bought "Pink Flamingos" AND some Emanuelle episode involving aliens from Blockbuster.
I don't actually remember what i was talking about when i mentioned the cat - perhaps i'll review for a moment.

EDIT: Upon review, i *think* i meant something that was gonna involve the extremely personal anecdote.
Since i have no shame, i'll just say it involves the fact that her cat*s* like to be spanked somewhat, but end up shedding all over the pillows afterwards at some point.
...following, of course, is their hair getting in special places at special times.
Following that, of course, is me yelling something about the cat being a godless sonofabitch.
I think.

4 is the number of kicks to the groin by a blackbelt martial artist it took to drop me to the ground on a bet.

over 200 is the number of times I have been struck in the groin to date.

Three is the number of children I have fathered despite the above.

All of them is the number of NSGers amazed by that fact. :)

See, a few people seemed to catch on to "the number of the beast".
When it was revealed a year or two back that, for several centuries now, a lot of inattentive and highly excitable folk had attributed that value to "666" instead of the more accurate reading of "616", the whole thing was unraveling somewhat.
Now, seeing as how Max Barry is actually an AI program, it's .. er, he's ... got a semi-random number generator assigning values of the same sort to posters here on NS.

"what do we do every night pinkey?"

this IS my 'free' time, and this is what i'm doing with it.
yah, when no one else is arround to rattle my 'brain', i play on the computer, making purdy pichers, playing trains, and noodling arround on the 'net.

i also make real little trains, read skiffy when i get the chance, sleep a lot, and have really cool trippy dreams, walk arround or ride the bus, on up into my hills when i get the chance. i used to play french horn and take pichers too.

finally got myself a decent camera again, so if i can ever get to where the pichers i like to take are,... i've found a few arround the house and arround where i can walk from it, but then i've only had it for less then a month yet.

i used to take tons when i was a kid growing up. most of those are gone now, although there are still a few boxes of slides that i took back in the late 60s.

i've got a few hundred 'purdy pichers' i've made with autocad and now blender, in addition to the photos. and of course combining these in various ways.

i don't really want to run the world. i may have as a kid. but i still have very definite ideas about the kind of world i'd like to be living in.

and it isn't about guns or money, but creating and exploring, and not messing things up for little furry creatures and our selves.
