Stupidest Thing You do for Fun

What's the dumbest thing you do for fun?

My friends and I still play Laser Tag. It's stupid as hell, and most of the people at the Laser Tag place are half our ages, but it's still loads of fun.

Spin 'round and 'round for about five minutes then attempt to walk in a straight line while balancing a cup on my head singing the Oompa Loompa song.

Yeah, thats what I do, minus the balancing and the singing.

Well, I post here... and I also sometimes skip on street stones, or create patterns of walking if the pavement has a pattern.

And I have a very hard time walking past swings without trying them out.

Make engine noises for no apparent reason. I won't even think about it, I'll be sitting around and maybe do a V8 shifting then have to look around really quickly to make sure no one heard me.

Crap, I almost forgot! I also check my mail bare ass naked sometimes on Saturday moring, just to see my neighbors reaction. And I'm not a pretty sight I must add.

I might also mention: hand rotating.

Sounds weird, and probably is, but it's a huge relief to me for some reason. It's like this: hold your hand out like you're greeting someone, then rapidly rotate your wrist, which should send your hand quickly flapping around, like an egg-beater. No idea why I do it, but I kinda have to when I get upset or nervous or stressed, usually the right hand but sometimes both at once. :)

Fass, you so often sound so angry, and yet here you sound whimsical! A side I've not noticed before.

My life is governed by whim. That's why I fit in so poorly with the national Swedish neurosis of punctuality and why no one ever expects me on time, 'cause they know I'll probably get distracted on my way to wherever... just the other day, I went exploring this synagogue I like instead of meeting a friend for coffee. He was pissed not that I was late, but that I never showed up. Meh, the synagogue was much more fun! The people there so kind.

(I like swings too. Taking nieces to the park gives me an excuse to use them. "What? I'm watching my nieces, see?")

Do you also close your eyes while you do it and just feel the wind through your hair and in your face? And do that whole "legs extended on the way down and forward, legs tucked in on the way back and up" thing? Those rule!

Depends on the swing. If it's a tire swing, you can get a buddy to stand on the rim behind you and push with his legs while you do nothing... well, buddy, kid you bribed with ice cream, same thing, really.

With tire swings it's standing on it, leaning forward and back to get a good swing going until the tire starts hitting the posts and see how long I can go before I end up on the wrong end of the tire and get slammed into the pole. It's not my goal for my body to hit the pole, but I tend to keep pressing it until that happens.

Swings. I haven't been on a swing since my kids were small. I'm hoping for grandchildren soon so I can have a legitimate reason to start up again. Or I can just call it my second childhood. I miss swings.

It wouldn't have occurred to me that there where so many different kinds of tire swings, but it makes sense now that I think about it...

No, I was thinking about this kind (http://www.recreationdynamics.com/images/large/TIRESW~1.jpg) with the three chains so that standing between two of the chains cause the other end to stand up, and the chains are connected to a swivel that allows the tire to spin.

In my area, the tires where bigger and they were usually (or are usually, I still see them) held up buy large log frames. Once you get going it spins pretty easy and you have to jerk your weight around (too easy...) to avoid a body blow to the wooden posts.

About a year and a half ago, a bunch of my friends made a game out of sneaking up on eachother and zapping eachother with stun guns.

Stun gun tag was quite fun. :)

It eventually evolved into smacking eachother with wooden and bamboo practice swords. The welts were impressive. *nod*

Unfortunately, except for the occasional paintball ambush, we haven't done much in the way of stupid fun lately.
