I would have to say Micheal Myers, that whitefaced S.O.B. never dies!

EDIT:

Micheal Myers from the Halloween films I mean. (May have spelled his name wrong)

Hannibal Lector.
Is this even a real question?

Hannibal Lecter of course, but much to my delighted surprise, Mr Brooks has surged to a very strong second-place.

That movie was really surprisingly good.

I heard it turns into self-parody by the end.

Yeah, it is a real question.

I agree Hannibal Lector is creepy, but mortal. Micheal never dies; at least he doesn't in the movies I have seen.

Freddy Krueger is the most retarded film mass murderer, but that is beside the point.

So, you're including horror monsters in the serial killer question? Yeah, whatever.

It puts the lotion on its skin, or else is get the hose again.
You liked the fake transvestite sociopath wannabe better than Lector?

Gary Soneji was like Hannibal on crack.

Since he killed so indiscriminately however, he will never be as charismatic and therefore, less likeable.

Mickey and Mallory Knox. But they are technically not serial killers.

What about the guy from 'Saw', I could never tell if he was crazy, or something else.

Not really, at any rate though, you should watch for yourself and see.

He was not a fake transvestite, but a failed transsexual - and, yes, I like him more than I do Lecter because Lecter was ruined with Hannibal and Hannibal Rising.

Nah. Not critically acclaimed enough.

I think I did mix up the terminology, but Hector did make that remark about him (the lotion guy) thinking he was a lot of things that he wasn't, including a transexual.

The critics saved me from both Hannibal and Hannibal Rising.

You fail.

Read the books and then come back to this thread.

Okay let me clarify: By the thread title: Favorite Serial Killer; I meant basically any crazy mass murderering bastard person and or thing in modern day horror films. This can include human villians such as Hannibal Lector, or as Neo Undelia so bluntly put it, horror monsters as well.

Maybe a better title for the thread would have been: Favorite Film Villian. I dunno.

Hannibal Lector.
Is this even a real question?

Exactly. :)

I also like Malkovich as a killer (non-serial) in Ripley's Game and In The Line of Fire. Malkovich cracks me up. :p

Here we are:

Hannibal: "Our Billy wasn't born a killer, Clarice. Oh no, he was made one through years of systematic abuse. Our Billy hates his own identity you see, he always has and he thinks that makes him a transsexual. But his pathology is a thousand times more savage and more terrifying. He wants to be reborn you see. Our Billy wants to be reborn, Clarice. And he will be reborn."

The New Yorker's very discerning and hard-to-please film critic liked it, which is some of the highest praise a movie can get.

Pfft. Then I would have been forced to say Darth Vader.

In actuality though, that would be Colonel Walter E. Kurtz.

I use Rotten Tomatoes. Think of that what you will, but it's only failings are in movies made prior to 1985 (Reviews consist of nostalgic bull crap.) Other than that, it's golden.

Read the books and then come back to this thread.

I have read the books, and they fail. Especially the piece of crap that was Hannibal.

But, you fail double, since the title of the thread clearly states: "Favorite Serial Killer (Not RL, Film)". Perhaps you should have read it before you tried telling others what to read, hmm? Now come back after you've ruminated on that...

Vader is not a villian, merely a disturbed individual doing a little soul searching, experiancing both sides of the force while he chokes people to death just by thinking it! :)

Seriously though: If you want an actual 'person' from a film. I would have to say....well, I would agree with you in choosing Hannibal Lector.

I don't care what the thread says.

And yes, Hannibal was a piece of crap.

Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs that were excellent books.

Your utter disrespect for the preferences of which this thread entails saddens me deeply....:(

Just kidding ;)

I was only compelled to say the name of a Star Wars character because I have a hopeless case of Chronic Nerdiness. Symptoms include awkward pauses in social situations and virginity. Cease this discussion lest you become infected.

And I still say that if you're talking about all villains and not just serial killers, than it's got to be Kurtz.

I did find that bit from the movie, though, but then I suppose it's open to interpretation, maybe?

What? It still clearly paints him out as a failed transsexual - he thinks he's one, but failed to meet the criteria to be admitted for a sex change. He's not a mere transvestite, as those don't have a wish to change their sex. He's a failed transsexual.

You need not fear young Padawan, for it is too late for me now.

Really, I'm not kidding, I am a Star Wars geek in some respects.

(The Padawan thing was a bit ironic in that your nation is older than mine. :))

That wasn't ironic at all. God!

Yes, but thier ineptitude at anything but intimidation makes them funny... and the occasional success they had could be considered scary by most people.

I think it's been parodied a bunch of times. :p
True, but Joe Dirt was the funniest parody of it.
