Like most of you, I love golf. Can't hit the ball to save my life, but I enjoy watching the pros make it look easy, even when doing the impossible. :p
So I was watching the U.S. Open today, and it's a good one. Difficult course, fast greens, close match.
So who do you expect will win tomorrow, and who do you *want* to see win?
Here's the leaderboard: http://www.usopen.com/scoring/uni/alllb.htmhttp://www.usopen.com/scoring/uni/alllb.htm
I'm a big fan of Tiger Woods, and I'm hoping to see him make a comeback to win it tomorrow, especially since he's never won a major when trailing on the last day. That's right - hard to believe, but it's true. He's 0/28 when trailing in majors, as crazy as that sounds. Poll is on the way. :)

I meant to pick the last option, but accidentally hit the 2nd to last. That's fine, though, I've never heard of Angel Cabrera anyway.
With that said, I wonder how much the Open will end up helping our local economy. (Oakmont is a suburb of Pittsburgh.)

He's pretty good - you might be right. :p His chip shot out of a hazard on the 17th or 18th today impressed me, to say the least.

Good question - at the very least, the hotel and restaurant industry will see a spike, no doubt. :)

Okay, maybe I over-estimated the forum's interest in golf a tad, my fault.
However, if only four of us vote (besides me), maybe no one wins the virtual bet, making us all losers. :(
So vote even if you're not a golf pro, and tomorrow we'll have some winners for sure! :)

Tough call... it really could be any of them.
Having misread the poll question, I picked "Someone outside the top 9", simply because Nic Fasth and Vijay Singh were my 2 picks before the tournament started, and they're both in with an outside chance. Overhauling a 5 or 6 shot deficit on that course is a tall order though.
Would be nice to see Bubba Watson win it... I like his style, or perhaps Jim Furyk since he has the most alien-looking swing (something that I can readily identify with).
Seriously though, it doesn't really matter to me for once. My old golfing prejudices ('anyone but an American or an Englishman to win') have faded over the last few years, probably because of the continuous humbling that Scots golfers receive, and so I just want to see a good competition :)

It should be a great show no matter who ends up on the top of the heap. :) I also liked Fasth, and would like to see him at least recover tomorrow. As much as I like Tiger, I wouldn't mind seeing a newcomer take it.

Tiger will probably win. With the exception of Furyk and Cabrera, no one else within 5 of the lead has much (or any) experience at the sharp end of a final round in a major. So Tiger will win because he'll be able to cope with the pressure better than the rest.
That said, I'd like to see Rose or Casey do well, because they're English.

I like Rose just for how he was playing on the back nine - he wouldn't quit when he had some bad luck and some crazy putting to do, and with some luck and skill he's still in it. :)

Just thought I'd "bump" this for those watching. It's been a wild one. :)
Cabrera and Ames on top right now, who'd have thought? :p

Early days yet. Cabrera doing well is hardly a surprise: he's a very good golfer. Ames is pretty good as well, he's had a few top-10 places in majors before. I don't expect them to still be in the lead around midnight BST, though.

I've been surprised by Cabrera! And this one's turning out to be a nail-biter. :)

Well, congratulations to everyone who voted for Cabrera to win it! :)
