Looks like the decision has been made and the DA in the Duke lacross rape case has been disbarred. I think justice has been done. What think you?

The disbarment quickly followed a disciplinary committee ruling Saturday that Nifong broke numerous rules of professional conduct during his prosecution of three Duke University athletes falsely accused of rape.

The North Carolina State Bar charged Nifong with lying to both the court and bar investigators and withholding critical DNA test results from the players' defense attorneys.

The committee, after deliberating for a little more than an hour, unanimously agreed with the bar on almost every charge -- including the most serious allegations -- that Nifong's actions involved "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation."

Disbarring him seems reasonable.

This was less justice here than simply him having his professional accreditation revoked, since he isn't a professional.

Justice will be had either in the form of damages in civil court or in criminal court if federal civil rights charges can be brought against him.

Well, yeah... It's within the law to disbar a DA for acting in such a manner.

There's really no debate there. Hence his letter of resignation.

The prosecution got exactly what it deserved.

I doubt there will be any criminal charges brought against him. There will however be a civil suit and I hope he has lots of money so the wrongly accused can get some of it.

You seem to be really on top of the news today Oklatex.

And this guy got what he deserved, letting this stupidity get to the point it did, unforgivable.

I must say, the guy seemed to be asking for it. It was a sexy case (rich kids, racism, etc.) and he must've just been drooling over it, but he sprang too soon and dropped the ball. :(

Yeah... I wouldn't mind hearing an explanation.

Maybe Jesse Jackson frequents the site. That'd be a hoot. :p

Where is the "Never cared enough about the story" and the "I'm still pissed at OJ's prosecutors." options?

No, no....Al Sharpton would be funnier. Or, better yet, that one woman from TV who everyone hates who said they were guilty before the trial had started...Nancy Grace or someone...

Man should be disbarred for the shit he stirred up with that case, as a warning for other prosecutors.

Disbarment should be just the beginning.

He should also face state criminal charges, federal civil rights charges and a MASSIVE civil suit on behalf of those three poor guys whose lives have been irreparably damaged for all time.

And Crystal Mangum should have her sorry ass hauled into court and prosecuted for perjury, AND subjected to another civil suit so that she's exposed, tried and publicly humiliated. I don't care if she doesn't have a penny to her name--if I were one of the wrongly accused, I would crucify that skank.

About time.

Now it's time for his sorry ass to get sued for every penny he has and something should be done about that lying skank of an accuser as well while we're at it (note I do not advocate violence against her).
