Us Veterans getting screwed

My father is a US military veteran. According to Veteran Affairs (VA), he is 40% disabled. He is deaf and has tinnitus in one ear, his back has made every doctor who he's seen ask "What the hell? How can someone's back be this fucked up?" I think the number the VA gave him on it was 50%. His shoulder was twice separated on duty, so that's rated 30% I believe. US disability laws read that because my dad is not "50%" disabled, and he has a military pension, he cannot receive a disability check. Anyone without a pension is granted a check. Does this sound fair to you? Does anyone know of any good blogs covering this?

Also it turns out that 40% of troops are coming out of this war with serious mental conditions and they are not only not getting help but are being PUNISHED for having mental issues.

Actually, those policies are far older than the last two presidential election cycles.

 :sniper: and still Bush runs the show???? And still more young men and women are sacrificed at the alter of power for oil and :headbang: what?? As long as there are cattle to the slaughter, Bush and his cronies will continue to load them on ships and send them to those heathen places to be sacrificed for their glory.

I feel sorry for your dad, he is really getting screwed over.

Write Dr Phil, he seems to have more power than anybody else in the states.

Dr Phil for PRESIDENTE!

You know, shouldn't we reform the Veteran's healthcare system? I always have thought that we should do away with all of the hospitals and give each veteran government-backed insurance. It'd be far more humane, and probably cheaper, too.

Magic word "atleast". I wasn't old enough to vote prior and thusly didn't much care about politics.

You could probably date 90% of VA policies back to the Vietnam War.
