Is there a difference between loving someone and being in love with someone?

Sure, I guess loving somebody can take many forms, as in it is the umbrella term. Being In Love with somebody is romantic love. It is also a great term to use during breakups (because it is so true): "I still love you, but I'm not in love with you."

Where's the best place to get a great meal in Maryland, without going broke? ;)

In the entirety of Maryland? Good lord, man. Do you have an AREA I could narrow it down to?

Pfft! As if it's that big... :p

But OK, wha' about Olney then? Or Jessup, if that indeed is a real place?

Or in DC itself perhaps?

Hooooookay. Here are my thoughts upon reading this:

1) If these girls invited you up to hang out with them for a specific amount of time, it was their responsibility to make sure their schedules were clear enough so you weren't alone too much, and to have things planned to do. Part of being a good guest is to insist that they do their own thing for a bit and you do yours, but not the entire time. So that is their own fault, and I'm not surprised that you left. Who wants to waste money on a trip like that?

2) When you left, did you talk to both girls first about your intention to leave? If not, that was not cool. Sneaking home is not very polite either and I don't blame them (one of them?) for being mad about that. Chances are she felt a little guilty for her role in it too, which also explains why she was so angry...people don't like to feel guilty, so they take it out on the original victim. Sad but true.

3) Name-calling...you know that wasn't a good idea, so I don't need to tell you it wasn't a good idea.

The only thing you can do is state your hope that you can all put this behind you and start over, and let them know how much you care for them. A classic trick used by exes everywhere is to remind each girl separately of fun times you had together, special moments, inside jokes, etc. That should wear them down a little. Apart from that, all you can do is be unfailingly sweet anytime you come into contact with them and wait it out. They'll come around eventually, especially since they secretly know the whole thing is their fault. If you want to send flowers to apologize for the name-calling, it couldn't hurt. :D

To #2. I told them the night before and again in the morning that I was leaving, so I did not sneak out, they both knew that I was leaving and had plenty of time to stop me.

My favorite place in Olney is BJ Pumpernick's. It's not fancy, but you can get a damned good meal there. I go all the time with my grandparents.

Jessup is indeed a real place, and not one that you'd want to eat in.

I don't eat in DC too often, so I had to turn to the interwebz for this one. http://cityguide.aol.com/washington/dining

Then the only thing you are responsible for is the name calling. Did you actually tell it to their face or did you leave a message? Because if you just left messages on their answering machines its completely possible that they did not get it. But if you were on the phone with them or said it straight to their face, you are completely in the clear.

Its fairly obvious that you were not in the wrong for this one. Or weren't, until you name called. I think in a while all will be forgiven.

Do you mean a CD like a music CD, or like an investment CD? If it's the former, what kind of music? And whose anniversary are we talking about? Yours for your significant other, one for your parents or some married friends, or what? What anniversary is it, like one year or 60 years, etc?

Frankly, I'm leaning towards "no" but I really need more information before I go with it.

That is very funny because you'll be about 3 minutes away from where I live. Let me know when that happens, eh? We'll have a little NS meetup.

Do you have the time/ability to get it signed by anybody important/relevant? Anything that's signed is worth a lot more sentimentally and monetarily.

found a flat now (yay!) but it turns out, after a couple of conversations with the landlord, that i can't move in when it was initially implied that i could and i'm gunna have to stay in a hostel for a week. gah! gunna have to call in some huge favours to store my stuff at friends places.

why does paperwork take so long? why do electronic money transfers take days rather than milliseconds? why does my landlord live in London?

That's close! I'll be there from monday, and will stay there (http://www.redroof.com/reservations/inn_details.asp?num=187) for a little over a week. Would be fun if we were to bump into each other... I'll let you know when I know more about what's happening. I'm just a pawn in this marriage-spiel that they're putting on :p
(...and have no idea where Jessup is compared to Washington DC and Olney in particular)

I expect you would know all the great bars, pubs, and generally fun hot-spots in the area then :)

I'll TG you or something when I get there and get online!

That's what I thought. Interestingly enough the free time that I wish I had during semester always turns out to not be that long at all. An extra few hours a day would be nice, but six to eight is just too much.

Funny how that works. I'll be climbing the walls for a month between my summer classes and fall classes. To YOU guys, that means seeing a lot more lightbulbs around here. ;)

I suppose it would be better if I was in a closer time-zone. But this place doesn't move at all while I'm awake.

Oh that's right. You've not no inhibitions towards double-posting. But really is that such a good thing? Also the lightbulb's thing to keep track of your spot is a good idea. Personally I decided to use my sig but that doesn't always work.

*tries really hard to at least look on-topic*

There's a lot of hair and crumbs in my keyboard should I be worried?
Could you think of any reason why I would be carrying five dice around in my pencil-case, but not Yahtzee score sheets?
Should I be playing Yahtzee at uni anyway?
One of my friend's is always talking about how it sucks that I can't drink with him. I say I don't care. Is drinking really that great?
Any tips for preventing getting lost in thought while working on problems/during lectures?
