Saggy Trouser Fans: Would YOU Wear A Dress?

It seems the Mayor of Delcambre, LA thinks you should.

A mayor in the US state of Louisiana says he will sign into law a proposal to make wearing saggy trousers an act of indecent exposure.

Delcambre town council unanimously passed the ordinance earlier this week making it a crime to wear trousers that show underwear.

"If you expose your private parts, you'll get a fine" of US$500 (£254) Mayor Carol Broussard said.

Offenders will also risk up to six months in jail.
Sure, but they'll eventually moan when the tax bill for looking after people wearing trousers () in jail comes through. And considering their poverty rate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delcambre%2C_LA", including 25.1% of those under age 18 and 19.2% of those age 65 or over.) I'd say that their ability to set priorities is even worse than their ability to judge what isn't a bat fuck insane proposal.

But it gets better:
Speaking of people who wear saggy trousers, Mr Broussard told the Associated Press news agency: "They're better off taking the pants off and just wearing a dress."

And better still!:
Some residents say the ordinance targets blacks, as low-slung trousers are fashionable among hip hop fans.

Mr Broussard denied it was racially motivated.

"White people wear sagging pants, too," he said.

So, what do you think - stupid, or very stupid?

Thats hilarious!:p

Really though, I buy trousers designed to show underwear. Thats why I buy kickass beltbuckles and boxer shorts....:)

I am a little surprised though; I thought it would be another "damn emo kids" rant.

$500 dollar fine for wearing a certain type of pants  they got their priorities totally wrong.

EDIT: and although I'm no saggy trouser fan I'd love to wear a dress.

He thinks that underwear and bum cracks are private parts? Hilarious! What about cleavage? or being too fat for your tight tshirt or making it ilegal for fat girls to wear leggings and crop tops...or making it ilegal for plumbers and builders to have their 'builders hairy ass crack' on show?

the state of louisianna is still working on inventing fire - they probably think they're being generous by not lynching them.

Maybe we could institute a fine for people walking down the street looking like they're having seizures and rapping badly.

A baggy shirt or jersey that goes down to or past the knee is a dress.

A lot of the hood rats and gangstas out there are little more than cross-dressers.

Between the basketball-jersey-sun-dresses and the women's jewelry they wear, it's a wonder they don't put on makeup.

And judging my name name of the Mayor, so does he.

I don't know how hot it can be where the law was signed, but in summer a dress seams quite comfortable (especially when you wear nothing underneath). Or maybe only a kilt, that would be even better.
*plans to wear only kilts this summer*

His name is CAROL.

And my name is Matthew. What's your point?

Anyway, this annoys me. If people want to wear saggy pants, by all means, let them wear saggy pants! Conservatism once again showing why it is bad...

And as for wearing a dress? Well I'm not sure if I'd wear a full dress, but I'd go for a skirt. It'd be comfy. Men should be wearing skirts anyway, not women: we're the ones with the exterior body parts that can be harmed by being compressed and overly heated.
