The last episode of The Sopranos has ended. I for one haven't seen it because I'm a season behind, but due to the countless spoilers in the media today I know how it ends. And I'm happy I know.

So are you happy to see it go? Did you like then end? Didn't watch it you say? Why not? Any final thoughts?

And please, for the poor people who wants the ending to remain a secret, use [spoiler] tags when talking about that :)

Yes I'm bummed the series is over. The way it ended last night infuriates me. I don't care if it leaves it to ones imagination or that it was an arty out for David Chase.

I wanted closure.

Personally, I was pretty disappointed when it came to this ending. There were far too many lose ends in the past two seasons, from the meaning of the coma and other long dream sequences that seemed to have more profound meaning than what came of them, to the various characters built up only to be killed or go missing.

Last night, one thing that bothered me was Paulie after just about every scene. Obviously the lawyer knew it was Carlo as the rat, but was it just me or did Paulie seem either pissed, or treacherous in just about every cut after speaking with Tony.

I wasn’t so upset with the black, it was a good way of ending the series as it make the audience decide what happened. Did Tony get whacked or was it meant to be that the audience got whacked. I personally don’t think he did, I believe there is a great chance that the Sopranos come back in some capacity; a movie, spin-off, or hopefully a few more seasons (doubt that). I assume a movie, as there has always been talk about it and from what I have heard over the past few days it seems to be the case (Don’t forget the Journey song at the end).

Anyway, that was my take from the last season or so. Though this finale was certainly not what I had expected.

I was pretty upset at david chase's little trick last night, but after cooling off a bit I can appreciate it as a genuinely quality ending, on par with the rest of the show, which is probably the best TV drama of all time.

Closure would have been cathartic, but the show has always been about breaking the neat-story-arc and denying catharsis and profound closures to things.

Some people are sure tony died, that the black out was lights-out for him, but I prefer to understand it as more of the same, tony- the two-bit hustling mob boss, dining out at some dive in new jersey, unable to relax even for a moment, even when everything is going his way. Not a cathartic or popular ending, but a good one.

At any rate, when that pistol popped up next to Phil's head, I was on cloud nine.

Seems there are few Sopranos fans on NSG :)
