Frankly, I don't believe George's story...

George whines ('http://news.scotsman.com/politics.cfm?id=911832007')
First, if you're beat up at an airport (especially in Europe), there are too many security guards around for anyone to get away.
Six did he say? Six men?
Tell you what, if six men were bent on beating his ass, he would not have been able to relate the story of his attack until the next day - if he survived.
I think he's looking for publicity.

Glasgow is one of the most violent places in western europe all the same. Although I agree with you

Err well I could believe his story, to be fair.
Glasgow is pretty fucking violent, and if people wanted to get at him if they were political activists, it wouldn't be seen as a shock, to be honest.

As it was George Galloway the guards were probably waiting in the queue to join the beating:)

In the airport?
It was in the arrivals area of the airport which is a lot less policed (in my experience alone)

Frankly, I'm disappointed that more people didn't join in.
I think that its plausible. It sounds to me like it was mostly harrassment with one or two of the 'braver' members hitting him a few times.

Perhaps George's cat-like reflexes allowed him to escape...

Hooray for George Galloway! Greatest back-bench British politician in modern times, in my opinion.
BTW the story actually is credible. I commute in and out of Glasgow 5 days a week, and I know that it can get pretty rough on the streets.
In particular, BNP and Communist supporters often clash, and it would be hardly surprising if these men where BNP agents. But it looks like they are probably muslim or jewish extremists. The article doesn't specify anything apart from mentioning the ringleader said:
"I have a religious duty to knock you down'."
But this may be a facade.
