Borderline: a new religion affiliation?

As I'm sure you know, many people are technically religious but not really. Staements like "Oh, you should make the US follow cheristian law!" doesn't really work if most of the people here consider religion only a minor part of their life. So why not have "borderline" (which includes all religions from christianity to islam to pastafarianism) as a valid religious choice? It's a sensible followup to "atheist" "agnostic" and "none".

I'm thinking it should be called UNorthodox too.. I can agree though. I don't like organised religions and mostly just follow the basic message from the bible by how I interperate it. Don't expect anyone else to do it though, I don't cause much harm and don't expect anyone else too, I respect others and ask for respect in return. Thats about where it goes.

Atheist: There is no god.
None: Mnuh?

More edit: Atheist can be a subset of "none", as can agnostic, but it's not necessarily the case.

If you're talking about Religious affiliation as in "Who do I side with" then Neutral should definitely be an option, but I hope nobody is asking any questions like that in any official context.

If you're talking about Religious affiliation as in "What do I believe" then Neutral generally has an option already; namely, "Apathetic".

I am of no religious affiliation because I find Religion abhorrent. That does not prohibit me from believing that a thing commonly called God might exist.

My faith is a huge thing in my life, but I still don't think it should be enforced in law. You set up a false dichotomy. (or I haven't slept since Friday night..your pick. ;))

I thought that was agnosticism?

that christian nation thing only works for those who are very religious AND want to put christian morals into law.

for those who do, they claim all those "borderline" people who go to church twice a year at best as christians and proof that its for the best to go with christian law.

the funny thing is that these same fundamentalists would not consider the borderliners as true christians for any other purpose.

anyway

i dont think borderline is the word. its not like they are almost atheists or on the fence between catholicism and shinto. they tend to believe in god but be unmoved by the idea of needing to go to church to express that belief. (or whatever, i dont really understand them)

For some reason the word "borderline" and your third poll option seem to imply to me that you consider religion to be an illness of the mind.
Do you ?

I think that willingness to encode christianity in secular law is more related to your RWA score than to how religious you are.

None would be ignostic. As in "God? Religion? What are you on about? Nope, never heard of them". Babies would be ignostic.

isn't that what religion is? a belief in god/gods/goddesses/the tooth fairy etc.
