I was just watching this youtube video and interview with the Libyan Revolutionary and found it interesting, considering I recently have read The Green Book and other socialist texts. I just wanted people on NSG to watch this video and tell me there opinions on this.

Never considered Qadafi a socialist. I always thought of him as a bit of a lunatic dictator with no real ideology or purpose.

You want me to watch a 60 minute video from 1991 and then comment on it? What is the school, what is the class, and what other assignments do I need to complete? Is this an elective or required course?

Well the video is very interesting, a gives a good perspective on his socialist democratic ideals, if you don't want to watch you don't have to, I just thought it would give a good idea of his ideals etc. Also this interview was around the time that Reagan tried to bomb Libya into submission.

That's really quite false. Qadaffi took over in an attempt to prevent militant Islam from taking control; he's quite the secularist. He was also a mover and shaker in the old non-aligned movement.

He's a very complicated man, and I believe one of the few dictators who honestly is acting in what he thinks is the best for his nation. I've been most impressed by the fact that he seems to learn from his mistakes, even if sometimes the lesson had to be delivered by F-111.

His ideals 16 years ago are not the same as his ideals today. Remember the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marines knocked on his door and gave him an education. He learned.

That's somewhat true, especially over the past decade or so. He's still a little strange. Especially with his clothes.

Can you have a half-female half-male bodyguard? Which is the top half?

Maybe he's secular now (getting your ass kicked will do that to you) but he was complicit in the Berlin night club bombings (which provoked said ass kicking) and the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing.

He's mostly harmless these days though.

So do I. And do does David Rockefeller. Don't make anyone particularly cool.

Now, if he were to talk about the dissidents he'd tortured or murdered, the crimes he'd his forces commit in Chad, about the terrorist actions he supported over Britain and in Germany (And quite probably elsewhere), the sacrifice of foreign aid workers to cover up the mindboggling fuckups of his state...

Now that would be interesting.

But a sanctimonious wanker I'd rather see dead today than tomorrow praising himself and using his charm to screw with his perception by anti-establishment youths whose ability to see beyond the mask is unextant is...

Well, lets just say that my interest in this is considerably limited.
