A fascinating look at the eating habits of people around the worlds. A few initial thoughts, the difference in how much people spend between developed and underdeveloped worlds is rather surprising, $1.23 to feed a family of four for a week? $5.03 for a family of twelve?

And the Germans are quite alcoholic; I think I counted thirty bottles of beer and four bottles of wine :D

edit: and the U.K family is wrong the family shop for 4 adults usually comes to £40-50

I spend about $12 per week on food for myself, but then I'm kinda thrifty.

that was interesting. Most of the families that had a food stock that looked like mine were from other countries, and all of the families from my country had a food stock that had 90% stuff I can't eat.

In other places, food comes very cheap. I can eat a very delicious chicken meal for 30 US cents in a port city somewhere in my country. And if you grow your own food, you don't buy it, so probably it doesn't count.

Also, what's with the Italian family with three kids? I thought the national average was -7, with sons never leaving their mother's house? :p

I'm not a big drinker. The thing is I suppose I buy microwaveable dinners and the like. If you buy fresh ingredients you could feed more people for less, but in my case I am just not bothered to put in the effort. Typical lazy student. :p

On second viewing, I think I most closely resemble the Mongolians - all meat and bread, no filler. :p
