NS Karaoke! (!?!?)

So, I have to say I've been getting into karaoke recently (partly motivated by running into a very cute girl during karaoke night at the Hippo a month ago...now that I'm back from vacation I intend to start going on a regular basis).

Aaanyway, in researching how I can get in a little practice fun at home or have a karaoke party like some friends of mine recently did, I ran across some information (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karaoke#Karaoke_on_computers_and_Internet) about karaoke software for one's PC, which would also allow you to record your own tracks and share them online and whatnot.

Is it odd that my first thought is, "Heyyyy...NSG Karaoke!"?

Anyway, has anybody had experience with karaoke computer software or internet karaoke?

I haven't found any problems with it, of course we have our own real Karaoke machine with like 1000 songs.......but this she can do without hogging the TV.

Karaoke revolution?! I think we all know what's wrong with this softcore, boreoke, lameoke, I-don't-really-careoke. How about upping the stakes, like if you sing the wrong note, poison darts fly out of the microphone into your face. Now that's what I call killaoke.

Karaoke is only decent when your drunk and playing PS2 Karaoke game, then no one realizes how bad you sound and act.

You simply do NOT want to hear me sing. It is not at all pretty.

Diiiiiiiiiiiiid somebody say karaoke? :D

Actually, I'd like to find Mac compatible karaoke software so I could join in. I have myself recorded singing on a devocalised track that I could send in if anyone's interested...

Ugh, an excuse to listen to shit songs and even shittier singers making fools out of themselves willingly, I'd rather eat a pile of old cpu fans.

Definately not worth the trouble it would take to pull this off.

I agree with Swatila on this, the concept is intriguing, but the idea is not going to work too well.

Well, I'd like to do it on my own, anyway. What do I have to do to do karaoke on my computer?

I haven't found any of those karaoke programs that are capable of playing my Cd+g discs, not any of the free ones anyway.
