I tried some Sailor Jerry's spiced rum last night. Not too bad. Anybody else drink anything interesting lately?

I have several bottles of eighteen year old scotch, and a 21 year old. Does that count? Macallan, Glenfiddich, and Bruichladdich, I think they are. And they are divine...

Despite being in college, I haven't had many opportunities to get drunk this year. I don't hang with the party crowd as much as I'd like, I guess.

I've never really gotten into rum... white rum, at least, is disgusting. I'd like to try a fine dark rum sometime, though.

yeah, white rum is nasty. i only really drink dark rum. not a big fan of spiced rum or demerrara rum (although i've only had one variety each of those, morgan's and OVD).

dunno really, i've never really had favourites of anything. i generally drink deuchar's IPA or mcewan's 80/- if they're available and if there's no guest beers on tap.

I tried Greek Metaxa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaxa)the other night. Interesting, kind of like a very sweet dessert wine. Maybe it tastes like brandy, but I've never had brandy, so...

As far as I know it only includes distilled beverages. Beer, mead and wine are out.

buddy nothing will beat bundy OP rum, in the way of spirits. i dont know if you can get it in the states or wherever but if you can, get some Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum. bloody great beer. anything from tooheys is. i've only found boutique beers to be better.

Any liquor has to be better than this stuff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brennivin)...

Mmmm absinthe - lovely stuff.

If you like spiced rum Appleton's is meant to be quite good - a dark rum but without an overpowering demerara sugar taste.

Personally I have been searching for the perfect gin - Plymouth Gin is my favourite so far - narrowly beating Bombay Sapphire.

Hmm, have to try it (first I have to find a bottle). Bombay is my favourite but for some odd reason I like Finsbury too.
have you tried Italian Valium? Amaretto+Gin
My new favourite drink (short)

I still love Jack Daniels, but I had this run of the mill supermarket bourbon from Asda supermarket the other day, it was actually really nice, and quite cheap. But, I can't remember the name.

Oh, and port is nice.

It's a very, very, very strong drink, and if you make it like you're meant to you, it has hallucinogenic qualities, because it has wormwood in it. But it's often 80-90% alcohol.

I have a something of an aversion to Amaretto stemming from an incident when I was much younger - me and a friend drank a bottle of wine, a half bottle of slivovitz and about three quarters of a bottle of Amaretto. Worst hangover I have ever had - I could taste Marzipan for the next couple of days.

I've still got some of that. I think it's generic Asda-brand bourbon. No wonder we can't remember the name. Asda do a reasonable range of whiskies including malts though.

It was surprisingly nice, considering it's supermarket brand. Most of that sort of stuff tastes like shit, but it's different.

I had a generic Coke last night, and sadly enough, it tasted better than the crappy American Coke that come in cans.

It was the next best thing the one liter Mexican cokes I get at the coffee shop, which is really sad when you think about it.

I have half a bottle of Laphroaig 10 year old whisky in my kitchen right now. The other half was heartily enjoyed by myself on various occasions in the last few months. It has a lovely smokey taste. Absolutely gorgeous.

There's a half bottle of absinthe down there as well. The other half was enjoyed over the last year or so.

Tequila...at the moment I'm currently out of tequila. :(

Crown Royal and Cherry coke.... good stuff

Captain's Regular and Mountain Dew... also good

Vodka and Cranberry Juice (Until it gets warm) nu-um-y

Straight Southern Comfort... good stuff

Its kinda amusing, as much as I like the taste of many alcoholic beverages I have never once gotten drunk.

Chartreuse. 55% alc, made from 150 herbs. It's just like drinking tea... That fights its way down. Then sits angrilly in your stomach for 15 minutes afterwards. It's very very nice. Very expensive, but very nice. My favorite liquor hands down.

Havana Club is the best rum. It's got a bit of a kick in it that I haven't found with any other rum. A little bit of a bite that goes very nicely with coke.

Chambord Liqurue is also very nice. Sweet, not really meant to be had alone (a lot of the stuff I drink isn't meant to be taken alone)

Anything by Uphoria is good, if you aren't into the really hard stuff and like it sweet.

Sadly, I haven't been able to drink lately due to perscription drugs ¬¬

I haven't been able to drink Southern Comfort since the first time I ever got arrested. SoCo was responsible for introducing me to the world of law enforcement.
