WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US architect working on the construction of a massive new US embassy in war-torn Baghdad quickly removed plans and drawings of the proposed compound from its website Thursday...

"We work very hard to ensure the safety and security of our employees overseas and this kind of information out in the public domain detracts from that effort," State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos told AFP.
...
Congress has authorized nearly 600 million dollars to build what will be the largest, most fortified US embassy in the world, to be situated in the US-controlled "Green Zone" in central Baghdad.

The current US embassy is housed in Saddam Hussein's former Republican Palace, also in the Green Zone, and employs some 1,000 US nationals, the most of any US diplomatic mission.

Too late, once it's on the internet it's always on the internet. As any number of celeb sex tapes can tell.

Seriously. If some bored Defense department employee managed to get a hold of the codes for the US of A's ICBM's and put it on a website, even for a second, you'd have WW3 in two minutes flat.

You know, it just figures that someone would go and leave something on the net. Are the leaders of the US really that un-internet savvy?

That's probably for the best. I can't see a one legged soldier keeping the insurgents out, really.

per the article,

firm of Berger Devine Yaeger

So it's not that the "leaders of the US" being net savvy, but the ability of this firm to keep anything secret.

I feel that this might be the last gov contract they would receive.
