Just a little lighthearted thread here... :)

I had an exam today, so I was in school but not in uniform.
When I got on the bus, the driver asked me if it was a fancy-dress day in school. :rolleyes:

And I'm pretty sure it wasn't just incredibly subtle sarcasm, he was being serious. When I said "No" he looked confused and then embarrassed, and just said ".........oh....."

Sooo... I was just wondering if anyone else has ever gotten anyting like that, and what snazzy comebacks you used.... 'cause i couldn't think of anything...:(

people tell me I dress nice on a regular basis, and I usually just reply "thank-you"...so in your case you should maybe say it wasn't dress day, but thanks for the compliment that you look nice?

I would have said 'You are looking particularly interesting today, is it 'Fancy Dress Day' at work? and left him to sputter....

I get that question, the other one I get is 'Where do you come from?' so I have ridiculous answers. Sometimes I get 'Do you belong to a religion?' 'Yes I'm Catholic, Jesus is my Guru!' I get this stuff because I am a Christian who observes modest dress. I guess actually putting on some damn clothes in this slutty era is exotic!
