Well, we've got the poll about what hair color looks good on girls, so, howsabout one for guys? Here it is! With poll, assuming I don't screw anything up.
It seems everyone on this forum likes girls...
Brown, I suppose.
I don't have very strong a preference.

It depends on the skin tone.
Never really thought much about it before but my preferences seem to be leaning toward the brown haired guys. All but two guys I have dated had brown hair.
It depends on the skin tone.

When I was a boy I looked at my dad's bald head and asked him "Am I going to go bald when I get older?"
"No" he said, "balding is hereditory from the female side of the family."
That was incorrect, and based on wrong facts as well. My hair started receding while I still had pimples, and by thirty I looked just like him. Blame the X chromosome why dontcha?
Yeah, so guys if you want to keep your hair, you can try the same drug they use in Advanced hair clinics (Finasteride .2mg, cheap at such low doses) but I've lost so much that the risk of side effects makes it not worthwhile. Scalp massage apparently helps too, even just at the level of brushing your hair often. Regular exercise and low stress levels ... so basically everything I didn't do when I was a young fella.
Some chicks dig the bowling-ball look, but you're never going to pass for young in any kind of light once your pate starts to shine ...

So I suppose now is not the best time to tell you that there is also a strain that goes on the Y chromosome, or that your mother had it out for you to the point where she gave you the bad X.

Well, I have thick brown hair. It turns gold in the summer. Not blond, not dirty blond, but gold. It actually shines. So far, I am the only one I know who has hair that does that.
When I grow facial hair, it starts out black as black can be. It then proceeds to the same golden color of my hair during the summer(This apparently isn't just a summer occurance-I grew a beard during the winter and it happened, however it was a stark contrast to my grey-ish brown hair. Not that I have grey hairs at my age, just that my hair tends to be a dull brown color that seems to be a mix between brown and grey during the winter).
My body hair, now that is black. Not fuzzy at all. Coarse black hair. Yay.
So basically, in the summer imagine a pale, golden haired, black-hairy chested male. Woot. I thank the mutt genese I have.

My hair does that too!
But I'm female.
And it's started to only do that during part of the summer. During other parts it just remains brown. Maybe because I've grown it out so much? (Though I don't know why that would affect it...)

On top of having the different color hair on my head than on my face, as my hair gets closer to the roots, it gets lighter. So mine merely shifts color around summer because I get more haircuts then.

It only does it when I leave it shaggy. Which is how I like it. I only get it cut when It gets to difficult to manage. I love my golden hair. Girls seem to love it(It's the one thing I have going for me).
:/
Not sure why length would matter though. I assume mine changes color due to sunlight slightly bleaching it or something of the sort. Maybe the length of your hair means that a lower percentage is getting bleached by the sun?

That's what I assumed too. So perhaps it is causing the lower percentage of natural bleaching.

Pretty much everyone's hair is darker at the roots than the tips; whether or not the difference is noticeable is solely dependent on how long the hair is.

Depends on the personality, skin color, and facial structure.
Some people look good with black hair, while others look good with brown or red. Others still look good with blonde, platinum, white, or just plain grey hair. Even so, people usually look good with more than one hair color, and more often than not, one of those colors won't fit because of their personality. Don't laugh. Black hair just fits shy/moody people. Lighter colors, not so much. This goes for both sexes.
As for myself, I'm a natural blonde (platinum), though my hair's darkened significantly over the years. It's more of an Auburn color now, with blonde highlights. The funny thing is, platinum would look great on me, but the darker shade just seems to fit better. I'd probably dye it to see what it looks like now that I'm older, but I'm guessing it just wouldn't fit as well as my current shade.
Such is hair, such is the human body.
Little love for us blond men, it seems. :(
I prefer blonde guys.

You may have the solution to the troubles in the middle-east there. They need to act more shy, and everyone would get along better. Or they could all try bleaching for a year and see how that goes!
On the bleaching thing though (and this might not be everyone) I found that the dark brown in my (younger) hair bleached out easily, from sun or chemicals, but left a much tougher coppery tint which it was almost impossible to bleach out. With enough peroxide it would go a sort of yellow, but it took enough to make half of it fall out, and it had the consistency of fishing-line.

Sounds like my friend's sister's hair. Apparently she used Kool-aid powder with a lot less water added than for actual Kool-aid. Her hair is now quite pink and it is dyed as if normal permanent dye had been used. But it looks good (even if the mother is pissed).

Brown hair. Hot guys always have brown hair.
Blonde guys are hot, btu they get drooled over too much. Feh.
Redhaired guys... the only red haired guy I've met IRL is a nerd (but one of my best friends). The only red haired guys I ever thought hot were the Weasley brothers (except Percy... he's a nerd too, and an evil one at that) in the Harry Potter movies... (yeah, I'm a Rupert Grint/James/Oliver Phelps fangirl... >.>)
Black haired guys are also always hot, provided they're not emo.
As for other colors...
