What's with all the obviously gay celebs coming out? Not that my gaydar is all that super-sensitive, but for once, I'd like to be surprised. Can't they find a real closet case to out? And, no, Ted Haggart doesn't count because he wasn't very famous. Anyone you want outed? Personally, I'm desperately holding out for Gerard Butler (http://imdb.com/name/nm0124930/).

It was two prostitutes, and, to use the technical term, coprophilia, right in the middle of his campaign for the leadership of his party. He'd withdrawn from the contest the day before, which everyone thought was due to a lack of support. The full truth was far more surprising.

I didn't think the actor was gay just because of the character he played on a tv show.

Oh, although from the article he seemed to have chosen a classy way to do it (briefly mentioning his partner's name in an interview rather than like hold a press conference to be like "omg, everyone cares that I'm gay."). Like I really wouldn't mind if more celebs came out like that... either that or just showing up with a date on the red carpet or something.

It has nothing to do with the character, and everything to do with David Hyde Pierce being a screaming queen. His closeted status has been known... since, well, he was known. Get with the programme.

Also, just because somebody "acts gay" doesn't mean they are.

Oh, sweety, that is so naïve. Just because someone "acts straight" doesn't mean they are, but "acts gay"? The chance goes up by at least 80 percentage units.

I got them 2 years ago; they looked like these, only the frames were white and I had them make curved prescription lenses for me.
They look like the gucci one I have for my prescriptions.

The underwear does, a little bit...
I thought that was Calvin Klein underwear that marked you out for gay.

Wearing CK or D&G Underwear doesn't point out one as gay, but the ads for D&G and Calvin Klein underwear can be rather homoerotic.

One of the latest ones (D&G I think) has been generating complaints that it looks like a gang rape. It has a man pinning a woman down while others look on. Everyone looks totally bored. Not quite sure what they're trying to say.
'Our clothes will make so disinterested in life you'll want to bang a skinny chick'

I vividly remember an article a couple of years back about metrosexuals. A gay guy was complaining that hets becoming more concerned about looking good made it harder to work out who was gay and who wasn't. He then went on to say that the only sure fire way nowadays was checking them out in the gym changing rooms to see if they were wearing Calvin Klein underwear.
I say I vividly remember this, because I'd just bought a 1/2 dozen CK undies just two days before and thought, "Oh great! It's not like I get enough problems with guys thinking I'm gay!"

CK underwear is very good, btw. Not worth the price but wait for the sales.

Sorry about that, but I was implying that a straight man would definitely not know what D&G stood for. I didn't know until you posted. Maybe I am a strange one.

D&G is also an abbreviation used to refer to a pair of French philosophers called Deleuze and Guattari who produced a couple of books together. You missed my joke. Deleuze & Guattari have nothing whatsoever to do with fashion or Dolce & Gabbana. I was merely offering frankly misleading advice.

As to whether a straight male would know what D&G stood for wrt fashion...

What? This seems to have turned into an undergarment thread..

I would think that in the vast majority of cases by the time one is displaying one's underwear to a potential sexual partner there is likely to be little doubt as to whether you want to shag them or not, rendering this whole 'homosexual underwear' malarky a moot point.

Then again, maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

You definitely are. One's pants must drop at least three times during the first time you encounter the person.

Though I can't really say I would know how to tell with those of the opposite sex.

I don't think that should happen, given that almost all encounters are in public places. At least not with me, what with my briefs that are the definition of "tighty whity,"

...

What? They're comfortable and practical, not to mention cheap. What the hell is the point to designer underwear anyway, other than as an occasional sexual plaything during foreplay?

Ah. Used to wear those, but now I wear "boxer briefs/shorts"(?). I find they are more comfortable overall, but tend to move upwards and then get all bunched. Generally requires me to put my hand down my pants to readjust them... not good for public places.

There's gym changing rooms (indeed, any public changing room eg. swimming baths).
Unless you're going to hide in a toilet cubicle when changing, there's no way you can't have your gruts on display.

Out of all TV characters, Niles Crane is my role model/one who I most identify with... interpret that how you will.

I assume it means I'm going to fail at life.

I think I was going to say something...but then I saw Gerard Butler and went into the crazy mode where I get up suddenly and run around the house for seemingly no reason with a really big smile, which usually happens when I see anything Phantom-related where I don't expect to.:) So now I'm not sure what I was going to say, though.

Oh, Fass, I sent you a TG and didn't get a response. It made me sad. :(

The Crane Brothers characters are both fruity.

Actually I'd side with their father at any time.

Outside of his Niles Crane character, David Hyde Pierce seems to play a relatively wide array of suggestive characters, such as Abe Sapiens from Hellboy,... a relatively freaky mer-man.

Celebrities I'd like to see un-closeted?

I always suspect the politician with the horribly, horribly ugly wife. Like we're not supposed to notice and wonder why they're never seen being affectionate. :p

I'm looking in the direction of Al Gore and John Edwards, to cite some recent candidates. John Kerry wins for "ugliest old bat," but the billion dollar fortune at least supplies a likely motive. :p

Carrot Top. Unless he is already outed, I wouldn't know but he certainly SEEMS like he should be.
