Earring

That's right, I drunkenly got my ear pierced. Well, just the left one, and, vain, insecure bastard that I am, I'm now concerned that I'm going to get labelled gay. So, is it the left, or right ear that signifies homosexuality?

The left.

Wow, I don't remember ever having a coming out thread on NS before. Way to be fabulous Chris :D

It's too late now. You should accept it and get seek employment as an interior designer, or fashion critic.

Have them both done! Go on!

And massive, flamboyant, pink dangly earrings. Ideally shaped like willies :)

Both is for females, are you aware of that? :D
You're damned, SODOMITE!:D:D:D

Seriously, if you don't want to wear the earring, just remove it. The hole in your ear lobe will cicatrise and close within less than 1 month.

You shoudl go for the latter. It's definitely not gay to have them both done.

Plus since this was a drunken decision, I'm going to guess that you got your ear pierced with a gun instead of properly (with a needle). You should apply some vitamin E once it's healed up before letting the thing close up (if you choose to do so) otherwise you'll have a little lump of hard skin in your ear.

Yup, David Beckham has both his ears pierced, and what a poster-boy for heterosexuality he is :)

erm...not quite. I put ice on it and someone pushed a metal instrument of some sort through it. I'll probably just go and pay for the other to be pierced tomorrow.

Neither? If you're really that concerned, just take the earring out, though I don't see why anyone would care about the opinions of people that'd judge you on something so trivial.

Uh... while you're at it talk to your doctor about getting a tetnus shot and a round of tests for diseases since you got a piece of metal of unknown cleanliness shoved through your ear.

Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. Wear the earing around and see if you can't shake off some your insecurity.

Having an ear pierced signifies having an ear pierced.

Here's a question: what the hell made you think any of us were going to care? We' don't exactly share your bigoted opinions when it comes to earrings and homosexuals. "OHMYGOODNESSIGOTMYEARPIERCEDSOPEOPLEWILLTHINKIMGAY! QUICKRIPITOUT! BECAUSEBEINGGAYISBAD!"

You know, as an act of defiance towards people like you, I had my right ear--and ONLY my right ear--pierced and have been wearing a stud in it for three years now. I've had lots of people call me gay, and I just smile at them. Sure, I'm a heterosexual, but unlike you I don't care if people think I'm homosexual, because even if I was, it would be nothing to be ashamed of nor would it be bad or wrong.

Make sure whatever you decorate your ear with is very manly and straight. Like a bullet (http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/29/6b/9e_1_b.JPG). Or perhaps a sword. (http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/archives/2swordsG.jpg) How about some Soviet memorabilia? (http://www.natashascafe.com/images/photos/cear10r.jpg)

Well don't I laud your bloody-minded strength. Unfortunately, for those of that don't share it, and are insecure, such strength is difficult to find. In any case, perhaps I don't want to appear gay so as not attract gay men? It is possible....

That's not my fault. I was one of the most insecure people in the world, I daresay. You know what I did? I grew up. I suggest you do the same.

Oh yes, us gay men just float around public areas until we see the glint of an earring on another man, at which point we descend upon them like angry shades and begin dry-humping their buttocks without so much as even asking about their sexuality.

I always found that somewhat ironic. It's always some really unappealing man that says "I don't want no fag flirtin with me!". Like there's enough booze in the world.

Yes, well, that seems to stem from their inability to grasp the simple idea that, apart from preferred gender, homosexuals are exactly the same as heterosexuals in terms of typical actions, thoughts, and what have you. But then, what do you expect? Bigots are typically uneducated/propagandized idiots who really deserve to be taught otherwise so they aren't so bloody hateful.

I wear mine on the left ear. I'm heterosexual. And I don't give a flying shit about whether wearing an earring on the left or right would make you gay. You're gay if you're gay, earrings or no earrings, left or right.
