I have to say, I have been youtubing and watching Countdown on the US TV (I have paytv) and I find his opinions and presentation style quite excellent, especially his comparison (its on youtube) of Iraq and Iran in Bush's rhetoric and Bush's attacks on the Constitution. Just as a survey, how popular are his views? Obviously quite a partisan figure but especially on Bush he seems to be dead on correct.

Never watch it because I do not watch editorial news programs.

My dad watches him a lot...I don't much care for TV News of any kind, personally, but Olbermann is certainly more tolerable than most.

That said...I miss the team of Olbermann and Dan Patrick on SportsCenter on ESPN.

Olbermann is an excellent example of a newsman. I love watching Countdown, especially his Special Comments. He's a very competent, truthful and brave newscaster who is the greatest anti-thesis to Bill O Reilly.

BTW I'm Scottish. I watch his show through MSNBC's website.

Whenever I watch Olbermann really getting into it, I start worrying he's about to burst a blood vessel live on-camera. I mean, he's intense.

That's another thing I admire about Olbermann. He's very passionate about the erosion of the US constitution and the deceptions of the White House, and he's passionate about getting it out there to the American people. He's like the vaccine to Fox News and Billo.

Oddball and Worst Person in the World are funny too. :D

Are you another Shrub supporter?

No.

His ilk means any television pundit. They're all worthless...operating by feeding the audience incomplete soundbytes to try and convince them of their viewpoint. O'Reilly, Dobbs, Olberman, Matthews, Hannity, Maher and all the other television pundits are all totally worthless, regardless of their political views.

Olbermann cannot ever be compared to sellout pundits like Hannity or Bill O Reilly. He's an honest, objective and very competent example of a newsman.

I've caught bits of his show here and there, and he seems to operate by similar methods, less shouting admittedly, but similar methods all the same. I'll stick with the printed word, I like that much more than I do television.

Your choice. Although really the printed word is just as susceptible to punditry as radio and TV news.

So anyone that disagrees that Olbermann is the best is automatically a gun-toting Bush Supporter? I do not like any pundit. What does that make me?

What?

I don't own a gun, I'm a critic of the Bush administration and I've got a strong record of non-affiliated political views.

You, on the other hand, are a n00B.

Oh look everyone! Its Bush's boyfriend. Nice to see you pulled yourself away from Bush's ass long enough to post the above message.
Well my main problem is that he seems to dislike Olbermann for no apparent reason. And then he has the cheek to compare him to O'Reilly.

I dislike the methods of television pundits, and Olbermann is no exception. The quick soundbyte, the 'witty' comment, the host fellating (or incompetent opponent) guest. It's all the same, all the way across the spectrum. Some are just ruder than the others, O'Reilly, for example is far ruder than Olbermann, thus he is worse, but Olbermann, like nearly all other television pundits (Frontline and the News Hour with Lehrer are notable exceptions). By and large if it's on cable news channels it sucks, designed merely to fulfill a certain audiences desires for a program that agrees with them.

I kinda get uncomfortable with the conscious and sort of arrogant attempt to channel Murrow, even closing his show with Murrow's line. It's too constructed, too, "Look at me, I'm Murrow!!!" kinda thing. Some of his commentaries have been pretty biting, but I don't really ever turn on the cable news networks if I can avoid it.
