Dream Jobs

You know, not all of us has dream jobs. Some of us took the job that we have because it's the only one available, or maybe it's the only one that we'd qualify for, etc. Whatever the reason is, some of us end up at jobs that we tolerate but if offer our dream job, we would gladly give up the current job for the dream job. So the question is, if you were offered your dream job, what would that job be?
Personally I wouldn't mind working for Duke University Rhine research Center, either that or I would go across the country collecting Urban Legends and Ghost stories and sell them in book forum, stuff like that.
Now it's your turn.
Edit: Let's think about job we could actually do, so no secret agent spy who's also a vampire slayer. :p

That's another good one. Only hitch is, even the lowest assistant librarians at the LoC bring in six figures, so it's probably pretty competitive. :p

Dream job? Does winning the lottery count?
I would love a job as a field researcher/biologist or something to that effect where I spend weeks out in the wild alone researching for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, or a University. Or just live out in the wild permanantly.

Yea, well before I got rejected from NC State (who not only e-mailed it to me but mailed it to me too) and Chapel Hill, I actually wanted to be an archivist. I'm now studying to be an Occupational Therapist, it's a nice job, five figured job, great health insurance, and yet, I still think back to my internship as an archivist, and I somewhat miss it. What can you do, I need a job to support myself, OT pays well, great health insurance and I can get a job anywhere in the country so it's a logical choice to make.

I know it's not a job, it's a dude, but that dudes job. Sort of. I don't want to be an actor-but a filmmaker, race car driver, motorcyclist, all around badass guy...that wouldn't suck. And composer.
I don't want to do just one thing, I think is what I'm saying. I want that cool renaissance man Hemingway/McQueen whatever deal.
I couldn't be further from either of those two cats than I am, but you did say 'dream.'

My girlfriends family won the lottery when she was 11 (shame 10 other people won at the same time so they only got 500k) and she hates that it ever happened. So i'll say it is a job

Well-moneyed Entrepreneur. Though that's a ways off, I just can't imagine having one job for my entire life. There are so many things that I want to do, and so many projects I want to finish in so many fields, that I just can't see anything else coming to fruition... And me being truly happy about it.
I'd like to run my own independent record label, a restaurant, a guitar workshop, and a chocolate shoppe. I could be content with running just one of those, but I'm setting my sights on acquiring the means to run all of them. A lofty goal, sure, but one I'm looking forward to, and one I'll have fun accomplishing. Hopefully.

My dream job would to be to devote myself full time to performing music.
I have three dream jobs that as a child I absolutly wanted to be
1. An Artist
2. A Radio Dj
3. A Police Officer (every kid does though)
I have had 2 of them and so I am quite happy with how that aspect of my life has turned out. I no longer want to be a police officer any more.

What kind of radio show was it?
crappy. I hated the music, but it was a good schedule for me 11pm to 6am Monday through Friday and then I got to go do promotion on the weekends (which was basically getting paid to hang out at various fun places and smile and hand out bumper stickers) I made like $10 an hour but it gave me time to do other things that I wanted......like work at a "real job" during the day.
It would be cool now because I would leave after the kids were asleep and get home before they woke up. It was a no brainer job, nobody was awake at that time unless they were high or also working a craptastik job, so I basically got to talk about whatever I wanted between songs.

For me my dream job is being a doctor, a job I am trying to work towards. I'm doing my A-levels at college (England). I'm in my first year and doing the second set of exams, the first set I got A in maths, further maths & chemistry and a B in Physics 7 Biology. They've like me to get 4A grades in the next set of exams which I've just started.
Next year I'm going down to 4 subejcts probably (the average is 4 in first year, 3 in second year but I've done one extra) though it may be 3 based on my results. I'm definitely keeping maths, chemistry & biology as all are good subjects they like for Medicine. Physics is also a good subject but it depends how I do in the exams (A I keep it up, B unsure, C probably won't, D definitely wont, E teacher wouldn't let me, U[fail] teacher may hurt me). i won't be doing Further Maths because it's not down as a key subject for Medicine and i could not manage a 5th subject in the second year of college.
Hopefully after applying I'll get an offer a from medical school and then get the grades I need. Backup plan is I'd go for another science subject at Univeristy and then go for medicine as a post-graduate. Would lead to the same place but take 2/3 years longer and cost a fair bit more in Univeristy fees, therefore I'm really really hoping it works out first time around.

I want to unite the world into a single nation and erase all boundries. i don't want violence, I just want peace. It isn't too unrealistic, it just may not happen anytime soon. europe appears to be uniting into a single nation, how much longer until there are Six Continental Nations? eventually, why not The Westren and Eastren Nations? And then maybe someday, The united Empire of Earth. there won't have to be any more fighting, and we can all get along in peace and harmony in the spirit of Brotherhood. as one Nation, we can heal the Earth, and fix all the damage we've done to it.

I would want to be a HR manager for a large international company and to be in charge of culture training for American nationals being sent abroad (or in charge of the training in the foreign country, that would be cool too.)
Oh, I could be a consultant that gets hired by foreign companies to come in and train their people on American culture. Perfect!

I have done two already that were up my alley. Served in the Army. Most of the time I was assigned to armor. Had alot of fun and served my nation in war. Second is what I am doing now. Creating a great business has really paid off financially and emotionally. Third plan is to most likely buy a group of Riads in old town Marrakech of all places. Would like to run a boutique hotel business. Maybe open a couple clubs in Marrakech also. Love the city and that is where the wife's family is from.
