Firefox problems

You know, Firefox used to be a good web browser, better than IE, but now it's just as buggy as IE. Alert windows popping up, even though I disabled them, history being wiped out at random, and Firefox crashing. This started happening the update before last, has anyone else experienced this? I may go to Opera if it's more stable, but I don't know yet.

If you're using extentions remove them all and see if the problem goes away. If it does, installed them one by one and see which is the cause.

I installed 2.0.0.4 (if I haven't done it yet, I don't remember everything) and I'm going to see if that fixes the problem. I don't have any extensions Fass, but thanks for the tip.

My firefox has been fine. It only randomly crashed every once in a while.

Fass is right with the addons.

Take a look at ones you are running. You could review mozilla about them. If you see a few comments about crashing, then you know to remove it.....

If it happened right after the patch, something might have screwed up in the patch install. Do a full reinstall and repatch.

Yup.

I'm using 1.5.0.11 until now - hopefully the update to ...12 will change that.

(I know that there's already a 2 version out - but that fucks with my mouse's scroll-wheel.)

I have add-ons for FF and I have no problems with the version I'm running, which is the same as you, Wilgrove.

Maybe check for spyware on your computer?
