warhammer has a hell of a backstory and if they can integrate it well it'll be a very good game.

I read the whatzit on how the game would work and it actually sounded cool. Seems like there is a big ass invasion and you can fight against other dudes in that war or little side missions related to that war that are influenced by what else is going on and whatnot. That actually sounds fun.

BUT, they're not likely to play well with the Mac, and it'd be even cooler if it was 40k.

Ah well, I'd just get my ass handed to me by all the hardcore tweaker gamers anyway.

It looks like a really good game; might even prompt me to subscribe to a MMORPG for the first time. I like the idea of the war aspect, how everything you do is calculated towards the war effort. Even learning a trade and creating goods will be part of the war effort, as the trades will be supplying the war.

And magic casters know how to fight.

And it's Warhammer.

Might be difficult, as trolls are not a playable race and the focus of the game is on PvP. You can probably slay a few trolls though.

no actually, I never played Warhammer. I'm a 40K man. I cam across Warhammer Online while looking up Warhammer 40K, and became excited upon reading more about it.

I know, I'm anxious to hear more about it.

Did you see anything of the first warhammer online before they shelved it? Now that looked amazing. It seemed like they were really trying for a really dark well fleshed out world with that one.
This one looks ok, but it still looks a bit world of warcraft for my taste. Bit too colourful. Bit too large scale. But what do i know, I've not played a MMORPG in my life.

It's...um...the same one. Mythic bought it out. Meanwhile in the intro vid, as a chaos player I laughed gleefully watching that warrior priest of sigmar just get owned by the chaos champion.

true, but if all other sentient races die out, the chaos gods have no food. the marines arent near enough, Khorne would demand war to fuel his bloodlust, which would cause casualties, and since as far as i know, CSm cant breed they would run out eventually.

hehe, silly metal bodies. Although to be technical, CSM can't really hide in the immaterium for much longer than anyone else.

From a lore perspective the deceiver is pretty bad ass. However just from a game play perspective, Nightbringer is just ow.

Boston is actually my favorite American city, but alas, i live in Atlanta. And I'm not that good at DOW. I'm decent, but I get pwnd relativley often.

As much as I love the Eldar, they suck.

Well it's the same one if you mean that they're both called warhammer Online, but it's changed in about every definable way. Everything from the focus of the game to the character models, to the overall feel. You can't persuade me that they're the same games.

A nationstates DOW match would be cool. Who will organize it?

From what I've read, it doesn't look as good as the original Warhammer Online. It looks like a bizarre rehash of the whole Storm of Chaos thing a couple of years ago. Does anyone know if this thing is "canon", as it were?

As long as all updates are free, then I don't mind it as much.

However, I also hope they don't do the DDO thing, where they give you the first 10 levels (or possibly lower) and then slowly raise the bar.
