The decision will be made in a few months. There are only two candidate cities still in the running: Abuja (Nigeria) and Glasgow (Scotland). Which city do you feel should host the Games?

As a Brit, I'm torn between the two. Much as I would like to see the Games go to the UK, they've never been to Africa, let alone specifically Nigeria, so I'd be rather happy if Abuja won, too.

Nigeria soooo does not have the economic means, I love have to say Glasgow.

Actually, Nigeria hosted the Pan-African Games a few years ago, which (apparently) required even more means than the Commonwealth Games, and it was a success. Plus they still have the infrastructure. They've proved that they can do it.

London 2012-3012 is my suggestion (course the UK hosting two commonwealth games in a row is also good)

Anywhere, as long as it isn't Queensland. Shelling out millions so that politicians can indulge their arrogance isn't my idea of a good time.

Haha nice. I would love to see them try. You wouldn't even be able to fit all the competitors there, let alone people wanting to watch. That's not even mentioning the fact that they probably have next to know stadiums.

I would have to say Abuja; it would certainly give the Africans a show and what is the worst that can happen? Worst case scenario, you give the games to London if the s**t hits the fan.

I think it should go to Abuja. The UK had the games the time before last - it should go somewhere else.

Until recently, they were rebuilding after part of the city burned down during riots. So they may be a little short on funds. ;)

The Scots would probably remind you that Scotland isn't England. ;) In the Commonwealth Games, the different countries of the UK are considered fully seperate, each with their own delegation.

Speaking as a Scotsman, I think the games should be held in Abuja.

Thier local economy will benefit a lot more, and frankly I would not trust Glasgow council to be able to make a budget that won't go exponentially over the initial estimates.

British endevours such as this always seem doomed to fail. Remember Wembley Stadium? What about the fiasco over the London Olympics budget right now?

We'll let you play once you destroy your constitution, burn down the White House, swear allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen, declare yourselves the British Protectorate of North America, declare yourselves independant again, (and when our navy inevitably fails to intimidate you into submission) then enter into the Commonwealth of Nations.

Or you could allow yourselves to be annexed by Canada.

This is true, but I still think it would be wrong for it to return to one of the UK nations so soon after it was last here.

You're entitled to, as a former British colony. There are quite a few republics in the Commonwealth already.

I voted for Abuja. The commonwealth games were in Manchester the year before last or something. They should be someplace else before they come back to the UK. There's a reason why the British economy is going better than Europe. It's because we purposefully lose things like the Eurovision song contest and the like.*points at the olympics which has already had its costs doubled or something*
