Seems some scientist have found some wooden lightnng bolts and other offerings to Tlaloc the Aztec god of rain. Amazing that the wood would have survived over 500 years in water.

i remember hearing in one of those documentaries about ancient stuff, like egypt etc., that all materials, including wood, are preserved better under water, because there is no oxygen- the damage occurs when you take it out of the water, and then it is when it dissolves or sth

It's not an offering. It's the earliest piece of garage metal band promotional flier for the band Tlaloc. They were totally metal. Except then they called it wood. They were totally wood.
