I'd like to meet the most misquoted man in history and ask for the real story but I can't make up my mind on whose words have been twisted and perverted the most throughout history.

Jesus would be interesting, if he was at least a real person. Caligula sounds like a fun time.
On a less known scale, I would like to meet my great-grandpop. He was from Italy, and he died before I was born.

I'd love to talk to him about Vietnam and Watergate. A nice dinner and brandy by the fire would be an outstanding setting for that. I do admire him for some of the things he did, like getting us out of Vietnam and having the balls to resign rather than put the nation through an impeachment. Other things I don't admire him for.

But he'd probably get disgusted by me and chop my head off.

"I have trained in the way of strategy since my youth, and at the age of thirteen I fought a duel for the first time. My opponent was called Arima Kihei, a sword adept of the Shinto ryu, and I defeated him. At the age of sixteen I defeated a powerful adept by the name of Akiyama, who came from the province of Tajima. At the age of twenty-one I went up to Kyoto and fought duels with several adepts of the sword from famous schools, but I never lost."

I knew someone'd say that.

So instead I'll go with our dear boy, Keith Moon. We'd consume large amounts of LSD, alcohol, heroin and cocaine, get in an oversized pickup, hit the down, and by the time we were done, the entire planet which be consumed in a massive fire and everyone would be dead.

Beat that.

I actually got to meet one of the people that I wanted to meet. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the fastest man alive, the first one to go over Mach 1, Mr. Supersonic himself, Captain Chuck Yeager! He was fun, and he actually cussed me out, mainly because I was getting a picture with him and I was holding up a picture that he signed and he said "Put that damn picture down, you want a picture of us not of a poster." :D

In leidu of Mr. Chuck Yeager, I would also like to meet the Wright Brothers. Mainly because I want to designed an airplane too and sell it to either Boeing, Airbus, or Lockheed for a large amount of cash.

It's quite tempting to turn this into a what historical figure would you most like to kill (before they [whatever they're infamous for]) thread, but I can't make up my mind on whether I'd strangle Thiers before he could destroy the communards and escape widespread infamy for it, Trotsky before he could finish-off Russian communism in similar fashion and end up infuriatingly credited for trying to save it, or Steve Bucknor before he could give Strauss out in the Adelaide test.

...or else leave it with a heartfelt that girl from the other night, whose name I can't actually remember

Instead I think maybe I'll just say that the idea of talking to Vercingetorix quite appeals to me, except that I'm not sure how to ask, "So, why didn't you charge before they built a fucking fort around you?" in a language he'd understand. The idea of a Celtic rather than Classical culture dominating Europe for the last two thousand years is terribly interesting.

when i meet someone, it generally tends to be whoever happens to be there.

is there some other way for this to be?

if the question was intended to be: "who would i like to meet?", my answer would be "why?".

not that i have anything against ever meeting anyone, but my life would be perfectly content were there no need ever to do so.

from time to time there are, i suppose, individuals i MIGHT be curious to meet, some i've encountered on line, a very few by their wider reputation.

but i'm afraid that's about it, really.

Patrick Stewart. I'd ask him what the hell he thought he was doing shooting Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Nemesis and probably get about an hour-long speech on how fed up he is with Star Trek only to hear him planning some other Trek movie later down the line like he always does.

I would want to meet my paternal grandfather...of course meet is the wrong word since I already knew him.

But as a boy i disrespected the man, and he died before i could even realize I needed to apologize.

It is, without a doubt the only thing in my life i regret, period.

It is the only thing about my life I would change if I could go back, with absolute certainty I know this.

My shitty childish self still feels pain when I think of it.

I would apologize to him, and let him know I understnad now.
