I just saw it last night, and I thought it rocked. In fact, I thought it was even better than 2. There were even some people wearing pirate costumes at the theatre! Anyone else see it? What did you think?

It was alright for an evening of mindless entertainment, but it seemed overly packed even for the 2.5 hours it was running at now.

Really? haven't seen it myself. I usually stray from the main-stream and pirates is as mainstream as you can get and it's disney too. So, who has any points to support the greatness or lack-there-of, of pirates?

If you haven't seen Pirates 1 then this should want to make you see it ;).

Number 2 wasn't as great as the original and I haven't seen 3 yet. Heard there is a bonus scene after the credits as well. But Captain Jack Sparrow is probably one of the best film characters of all time.

I have seen the first two FYI. I usually catch them on video or if someone was nice enough to pay my way into the film;)
Jack sparrow is heavly based on singer Keith Richards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Richards) of rolling stones fame.

Yep. I use that line a lot... ;)

But really. 1 was great. 2 was, um, confusing. 3 is far worse than 2. 3 is just cheap in very aspect.

The movie was awesomely awesome! I dont really know what to think about Will at the end...all i know was that I definitely didnt expect it until they had the heart...and...well...um, is there anyone here who doesnt want to hear spoilers? if so, i vote we all put spoilers in white, so you have to highlight it in order to see it.

All three pirate movies had a bonus scene...

Well crap. Now someone tells me. ;)

I thought it was good fun - plot was a little hard to follow (all the double crossing), but still pretty much what I expected.

I think that 1 was perfect in every way, 2 was kinda like, all right, and i agree that 3 was extremely confusing with all those deals and betrayals, and whatnot, but overall it was very good and there was never a dull moment.
I dont know whether I like 1 or 3 more, but I do know that you really didnt need to see 1 to understand 3 for the most part.

I thought this one was definitely far better than the 2nd, and possibly better than the first as well. I've never had a problem with complicated plot, and although it did get somewhat convoluted at times everything seemed to resolve itself at the end. The only part I thought could have been much better was the segment where they release calypso-it felt very generic and uncreative. From there to the end, though, was some of the greatest action in a movie I've seen in a long time.

MY sister and her boyfriend were going to go see it with my sister's best friend, and then my mom tried to force me on them. Needless to say, I didn't want to go after that.

Wish I could have seen Pirates though. I've only seen the second one and it was great.

It's true that you don't need to see 1 to understand 3, but it really helps if you see 2. 3 doesn't really introduce the characters.

I wouldn't wait around for the bonus scene it's about a minute long and rather pointless, though possibly set's it up for another sequel. Thought the movie was okay, liked 2 better.

One of my friends made a good point in saying that Jack kinda changes throughout the movies and hes still awesome, but just not as awesome.
In the first, he seemed all drunk and uncontrollable, but in your mind, you knoew that he knew exactly wat was going on and he was like plotting the whole time.
In the 2nd, he was just kinda there, trying to stay alive.
3rd, more like Whoa, wat the hell is going on here, its supposed to be going my way, not yours! Plus it was really out of his character when he voted for Elizabeth to be the pirate king. He NEVER would have done that in the first. Maybe he just figured that that was the only way to get what he wanted, seeing as somebody had to be king, and it may have well been the closest person to him, but still. Jack's still awesome, tho even tho he kinda went insane :D

I saw it last night and i thought it was great, definitely better than the second one. It was much more like the first with the action and the fighting scenes.

I thought it ended perfectly, all the characters ended up where they should be, at least in my opinion. This one had a bit of heart, but they did it in a way that still stayed true to the characters, it wasn't sappy.

I actually like seeing Jack evolve a bit. He's still hilarious, flamboyant and hedonistic, but he's also developed some compassion.

I don't have a problem with complicated plots either, and i didn't think this one was all that confusing, unless you didn't see either of the others. Let's face it, it's still a Disney movie, it's not that hard to follow.

Loved it.

the first one is one of my favorite movies of all time. The 2nd one was...okay. I liked it, it was entertaining, but didn't "wow" me. 3rd one, while not as good as the first, is pretty damn good.
And I'm pretty pumped about the possibility of another movie (and I'm typically one who hates sequels)

I read in the newspaper that Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and the Director don't want to make another one...but Johnny Depp does...

Speaking of Knightley, she was HOT HOT HOT in this one! I thought she looked way hotter in 3 than in 1 or 2! Especially when she was wearing that Chinese Pirate costume! :p

I loved it. I thought it was better than the second but not as good as the first.

And there was a moment that really reminded me of the Phantom (in Leroux). The reeds! Erik learned about that...when he was with the pirates in Asia when he was younger...it's what he used to kill Philippe...and it was in the 1925 movie with Lon Chaney...seeing that was awesome. :)

how disappointing. I'd say they have to have Depp, Knightley, and Rush to have a good movie. Bloom is just eye candy that can't act all that well.
