God is an analphabetic

At least the Christian god is. His/Her marketing paper is not written by him or herself, it’s a fact that it is written by us, humans.

I am wondering why it is like that. Because according that paper he created everything, you, me, the entire universe, everything. But he or she can’t write his or her lyrics on his or her own? Come one!

No, that can’t be. Or (s)he is an analphabetic. There’s some proof for it because in that paper one can find tons of spelling errors. So that same god can’t write but read as well.

An omnipotent god would at least have used the Flintstone version of MS Word and have pressed F7 on its stone keyboard.

Now that we safely can assume that this superior being can’t write and read, I’m wondering if it knows what is written about him/her and his/her deeds.

That would make sense about the ridiculous lines and the unbelievable parts. That would explain the tons of contradictions.

If that omnipotent being can’t read/write then it doesn’t know the content as well.

would you rather read a book involving saying how great Mr X is written by Mr X?

and why should God bother?

Well it'd add to his street cred.

What in heck does "Analphabetic" mean? Is this the latest and greatest PC buzzword to grip the world, replacing "Illiterate"?

God only works through nature and divine intervention. However the problem with divine intervention is that people (being fallible) like to put their own spin on things.

Sorry, English is not my mother tongue.

But...

an·al·pha·bet·ic(n-lf-btk)
adj.
1. Not alphabetical.
2. Unable to read; illiterate.
n.
One who is unable to read; an illiterate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[From Greek analphabtos, not knowing the alphabet : an-, not; see a-1 + alphabtos, alphabet; see alphabet.]

Actually, the wording of the Bible is archaic at best. This means that while the spelling is incorrect to you, it was correct at the time of writing.

You have access to an original first edition of the old testament then ? Not one which was copied and translated a few thousand times ?

Do you really assume that in the first version, there were no spelling or grammatical errors included?

In some famous local dictionary, one guy started to look for spelling errors (I assume he has no life/wife and children :p), he quit at #500

At least 500 spelling and grammatical errors in a book, written and edited by language professionals...

I feel safe to state that the original version of 'how I created everything in 6 days for dummies' was loaded with mistakes. No?

If God functioned as spellchecker ? Possibly.
But without the first edition (and a complete knowledge of the language it was written in...) it is impossible to know.

Considering the orginal edition was found, but torn-up becaus it could be sold for more as little pieces, then as a full text, yeah it's impossible to know.

And to add to that:
I am not even certain there was an "official" spelling back then.

God inspired the holy prophets and Gospel/Epitles authors to convey the truths that He wanted to convey to us. God did not "take over" the writers, He simply guided them. This left them to write in their own style. For example, Isaiah was an excellent poet and his book in the OT reflects this very much so. Other prophets, such as Malachi, were a tad more crude in their writing, however God still showed us truth through this "unlearned" prophet.

Another excellent example of the writers "style" would be the four Gospels in comparison. Each is written in a unique way. Each is aimed at a different audience. All four convey the same truths of God, but in different ways that all people may understand and have faith.

Now, for the original poster, what "spelling/grammatical errors" are there? What translation have you read? Unless you are an expert linguist the specializes in ancient Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek, you have no authority to base this claim upon. The Septugaint and the Vulgate are the two most authoritative translations, however, what is the likelihood that you speak Latin? I've already covered Greek. Most modern translations are correct for your mother-language except in some instances with biblical poetry, then poetic liscence takes over.

Well your correct if your only referring to the Judaic-Christian notion of God, but not so in Islam. The Koran is so holy in Islam because it's believed that Muhammad himself did not write it, but God used him as a 'host' for lack of a better term, and spoke through him and wrote the scriptures of the Koran, so it is the direct words of God, so to a Muslim quite important.

The OT/NT in comparison were brought down through oral tradition centuries after the event, and much later put into written word in retrospect.

I was refering to the Judeo-Christian tradition. However, we (Christians and Jews) still hold Scripture as the Holy Word of God, and thus it is of the utmost importance, equal only to Sacred Tradition. If you ever have the chance, attend Mass as an observant to see how the priest treats the Holy Gospels and Epistles during the Liturgy of the Word.

At least the Christian God is

Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the same God.

The Torah was considered to be the word of God, written over several centuries B.C. by Jews, during their times in Egypt, Palestine, and Babylon.

The New Testament is a bunch of stories written by men that fit a particular theme that the old guys at the Council of Nicaea wanted. Wait, sorry. Word of God.

The Quran is a series of revelations to Mohammed, conveyed to him by the Archangel Gabriel, but generally considered to be the Word of God. The proof is because Mohammed wrote it down, and he was illiterate.

The point is -- the Bible was not written by God, and if they claim it is, then they are stupid. But the Quran does claim to be the Word of God, and as a matter of fact, is written in perfect flowing Arabic. So, God might not be illiterate.

Either that or He wrote the New Testament, was shocked at the errors, and took 700 years to learn up on Arabic.

Exactly, whenever a celebrity writes their tell-all memoirs about doing coke off of Jerry Lewis' ass, they have a ghostwriter to do all the hard work for them. Why should God's memoirs be any different?
