Plutus, the wolf-like demon of wealth, dwells here.

Fifth Level of Hell

The river Styx runs through this level of Hell, and in it are punished the wrathful and the gloomy. The former are forever lashing out at each other in anger, furious and naked, tearing each other piecemeal with their teeth. The latter are gurgling in the black mud, slothful and sullen, withdrawn from the world. Their lamentations bubble to the surface as they try to repeat a doleful hymn, though with unbroken words they cannot say it. Because you lived a cruel, vindictive and hateful life, you meet your fate in the Styx.

Seventh Level of Hell

Guarded by the Minotaur, who snarls in fury, and encircled within the river Phlegethon, filled with boiling blood, is the Seventh Level of Hell. The violent, the assasins, the tyrants, and the war-mongers lament their pitiless mischiefs in the river, while centaurs armed with bows and arrows shoot those who try to escape their punishment. The stench here is overpowering. This level is also home to the wood of the suicides- stunted and gnarled trees with twisting branches and poisoned fruit. At the time of final judgement, their bodies will hang from their branches. In those branches the Harpies, foul birdlike creatures with human faces, make their nests. Beyond the wood is scorching sand where those who committed violence against God and nature are showered with flakes of fire that rain down against their naked bodies. Blasphemers and sodomites writhe in pain, their tongues more loosed to lamentation, and out of their eyes gushes forth their woe. Usurers, who followed neither nature nor art, also share company in the Seventh Level.

There are three levels of this type of sin, apostates, heretics, and infidels. Pagans are considered infidels which is the lowest level. Heretics are worse because they know about the Church and reject part of it, instead of just being ignorant. Apostates are those who completely leave the Church, so an apostate pagan would be worse than a regular pagan or a heretic.

I'm just trying to explain the system, not calling anyone apostates, heretics, or infidels.

i wouldn't take that test too seriously, it said i was highly schizotypal but only slightly paranoid. my results didn't seem to have anything to do with how i answered the questions, in fact the schizotypal thing is almost opposite to what i answered.

And a funny thing...I've never read Dante's Inferno and am only now truly paying attention to these descriptions despite taking the test multiple times and as such I had not noticed he mixed a bunch of Greek mythology into Hell.

What's interesting is that he uses all Greek mythology as if it were all about some evil dank horrible place, despite the fact that King Minos was someone who judged if someone were worthy of Greek Heaven, Greek Hell, or Greek Limbo, not just some evil snake who banished everyone. Nevermind the fact that Charon, while probably a bit greedy, was not exactly a bad guy.

As a big fan of Greek mythology due to how interesting it is over boring Christian mythology(which is naught but a redux of what has come before it) it makes me really mad.

And a funny thing...I've never read Dante's Inferno and am only now truly paying attention to these descriptions despite taking the test multiple times and as such I had not noticed he mixed a bunch of Greek mythology into Hell.
Everyone who was anyone included references to Greek culture in their writings at the time, and since the Ancient Greeks weren't Christian, the only place Dante could fit them in was Hell.
That said, most Greek heroes/gods were a bunch of punks, and were certainly Hell-worthy by Christianity's exacting moral standards. I mean, Dante sends a pretty large number of Popes to Hell, including most of the contemporaneous ones.

Actually, Dante did write Paradisio and Purgatorio. They're really quite dull. I only got through Purgatorio (lives up to its name) and halfway through paradisio before giving up. So if you feel like reading Paradisio, and then analysing it enough to make a quiz, be my guest, it just won't be as funny. Hell's going to be a party.

Usurers, who followed neither nature nor art, also share company in the Seventh Level.

Maybe it's because I'm secular (Though I do beleive in G-d.), because I admit to happily being a glutton, because I answered not about my real sex life (which is something close to nonexistant) but the one I would like to have, or maybe it's because I- like anybody else- enjoy periodic mild endulgances. Aside from that, I had assumed that the whole populistic humanitarian thing would give me an embarrassingly good level. But I ended up in the Seventh Level of Hell, and the description told me why. According to this, my eternity will suck, because my life has sucked. A couple of years ago, I was suicidally depressed and, according to either Dante (if this person was quoting) or whoever made the test up, that condemns one to the seventh circle of Hell. Of course, I'd be there anyway, because I don't believe in Jesus. Thank G-d we Jews don't believe in Hell, eh?

Saying i don't believe in God or the afterlife put me here. I'm actually Agnostic though, not an atheist. Since they only have yes or no answers though, i chose no.

I am not a religious person at all, but i kind of worry about the people who got the last three levels...lol.
