Q: "What's today?"
A: "May twenty-second."
Of course, it works the other way as well...
Q: "What's today?"
A: "The twenty-second of May"
...I find the first far more common than the last, though probably only because it's quicker to say.
So where did you people get the idea of putting the day first?
