I have personally found that the internet is likely the most honest place to get an opinion in the world. This is a proposed design for a CD cover for a punk band named Resurection America. They have a strange platform as punk bands go and they're music is about reviving the American dream and getting rid of the stupid asshats that run the country, get rid of drug and other unpopular laws, and let america truly be free.
Anyway, while I'm a DJ, I am also a certified digital artist and have been hired to make them a CD cover. They wanted something that had an american flag and looked 'different'; do you guys think this should be good enough?

Please Keep in mind that the original image is crystal clear save for the static effect but would take almost 3 minutes to load running a 56k connection so the quality has been reduced.

I think it's nice :) you got very punky colours into it. I like it!

The yellow block with "Americant" would look better if it was a solid yellow.. and move "Americant" down a line.

I don't think its terrible, but I don't think its all that great either. For a political punk band it seems like a very modest cover.

Well...I wouldn't buy an album by a band that can't spell their own name...but aside from that, it's a little boring. I consider myself rather qualified in flipping through CD racks in dingy basement stores and that one wouldn't really jump out at me as memorable if I came across it. Might make more sense in a clear jewel case as the background behind where the CD goes, but for an actual album cover I think you need something catchier.

it's very drab......can you add some green and use a different font?

I like the graphic, but the color/font thing is making it plain......

I don't know why I think it needs green (or where) but it just popped into my head, you can ignore the advice.

yeah, that's it, it looked wrong.... because it looked like something else that I had already seen.

hey! can you do something different with the Flag? like pixleize it or something? (is pixleize a word? I don't think so.....:confused:)

Maybe I'll play wth other color combinations... maybe blue and black, red and green, white and purple... stuff like that.

I don't get the static thing. It diffuses everything. It would stand out more without it.

I think it needs more constrast color wise. I like the concept though.

Basic is good, but basic needs something to catch the eye.

Pixilate is the word you are looking for :) and yeah I could try getting rid of the static fuzz and pixelate the flag.

hey, you could do solid color on part of it and leave the grey static on other parts, that might be cool......

you know what else might be cool? if you did some of the lyrics in the star in little bitty font and colored it complimentary to the solid color background.

I like that idea a lot. That would be fantastic (at least it is in my head).

Something small: I don't like that the R runs into the star. I also think "ressurection america" should be in a larger font than the title of the album.
