I'm very interested in bringing my nation, the Dominicath Empire, into the forum RP we have here. The problem is, I'm moderately new, and all the other RPers are these bigass nations who can and aren't afraid to wipe me out with just one post.

My question is; what would be a good population to start RPing? I have 14 million people right now.

This belongs in either Gameplay or International Incidents.

And a good population at which to RP? It's up to you really since no one can tell you you can or cannot RP because of your population. Just respect the rules of the game and you'll be fine.

Since this is a question about RPing and not an RP as such, I doubt there's a forum that would really fit. This one almost certainly isn't going to yield any usable answers, though. Hardly anyone posting here also roleplays.

I've already made a few topics, but like I said, the bigger nations just came in and started threatening me with armies the size of my entire population.

Don't worry too much. You should start by posting a fact book and then attempting to get embassy. It might only be smaller countries that respond but a large group of allied small countries should shut the imperialists up. For me, its the fact that I came in and made several corperate alliances. In less than a months time you'll have nearly 100 million people and possibly a huge budget. If your nation is militarily weak try to make freinds with the strong ones. I'm not certain but I think that of those who do RP, UN nations are not allowed to attack small harmless nations that do not threaten them. But I'm new to all of it (Well hell NS) myself. I hope I was some help.

In my case, I largely stuck with the character RPs until my nation got bigger. Those nation RPs where I did play, I largely accepted a minor role and let other, bigger nations run amok.
Also, make friends with the larger nations. They can really help you out if any of the larger nations run amok.

And the most important tip: don't act like an idiot. Bigger nations don't have a lot of patience for new nations that go "I declare war on all joo! I use my infintite nukular misile that kil u all! I ownzers!!!111" By generally acting intelligent and realistic, you'll persuade bigger nations to leave you alone.
