Can I wear these pants?

I've been looking for a pair of long or 3/4 length white pants but with no luck. Turning to ebay, I find an astonishing number of cool (aesthetic and temp) white pants- all for women. But some of them look uni-sex to me.

Could a guy wear these, for example, without them looking like he shouldn't be?

They are just white pants but... I don't see how they are biased towards either gender... They are so featureless.

I'm not fashion conscieous enough to really answer that.... nor would I be fashion conscieous enough to give a @&#$ what anybody else thinks about my clothes.

Especially when we're talking about a pair of long shorts more or less.

"white pants" are in at the moment for women, as you may have noted. However they tend to be semi-see thru.......Just so ye know....

Those look a bit baggier than them though....

I wouldn't wear 'em, unless my basement was flooded or I was living on a beach 'r somethin. I believe I wore capri pants once or twice... years ago... then I was just like "um, no, these are so not me, I don't care that the rest of my fashionable gay friends seem to like them, they aren't me," because fuck trendy, I'm jeans and camo fatigues and knee-length shorts, but definitely not capris. And now they've even fallen out of favour with several of the friends who used to like them. Also, ironically, nowadays camo pants seem to be trendy and people think I'm following some fad, when I've been wearing them for a dog's age because they go with my whole militant personal motif. Gawd it's tiresom watching scrawny guys wearing strangely tailored, low-rise pseudo camo pants-- it's so... unauthentic. :-P

Er... anyways, /gay_thug_fashion_rant.

I thought this was a thread about underpants. :(

Back to the OP, I think those trousers look fine, I’ve got a couple of pairs a lot like them; though they’re not white. Very nice for lazing aboot on a sunny day. Boo to the nay-sayers!

Wear dem pants!

Get a pair of white jeans and have them cut off to the length you want?

Or find out where the skateboarders/surfers shop?

they look like you could get away with them. But you have to remember female clothing is designed for hips, and might be low sitting.

Edit: have you tried looking for board shorts? These are usually pretty summery as they're designed for water sports and often past knee length.

I'd actually agree with Ifreann. They remind me of Capoeira pants (which, yeah, aren't 3/4 length, but still).

If the size fits, then go for it. No one could tell the difference if it was made for men or women. It mustn't be skin tight though because then the pants will mold your body image.

Not sure why you'd consider wearing womens pants but hey who am I to judge.*shrugs*

After viewing the suspect pants I will offer this nugget. Two things come to mind. Chick pants and sailor wear.

In my experience womens fashion styles are best left to women, unless your a rock star and need reeeeeeeeeeeeeally tight low rise jeans:p

You shouldn't wear trousers like those, not because of gender or whatever, but because they're fucking white.

Sweety, baby, darling... white trousers in general uglify even otherwise attractive people (http://z.about.com/d/mensfashion/1/5/b/1/greenshirt.jpg) (and that vomit-green shirt certainly isn't helping him). Imagine what they'll do to someone like you! *shudders*

They are a blight upon the well-being of the fashion sensible and sensitive for the entire warm season, with specks of blinding sadness intersprinkled by those indigent enough not to let them go for the rest of the year, either. I implore you, do not let the hurting go on.

Women's bodies are not like men's bodies. They're curvier. It follows that women's pants will be cut differently than men's. Whether you can get them on or not, they will look peculiar on you (unless you are a strangely built man). Go to a Navy surplus store, one of the uniforms for enlisted personnel is white and you can probably find the pants there - I hope you like buttons.

Yes a guy could wear those pants...

if he lived in San Francisco, LA or certain parts of NYC, carried a designer bag and wore matching shoes and had a significant other named Lance.

But since you live in Australia I'd advise against them.

If you are worried about what others think, I would only recommend these for "beachwear" kind of situations. They look like something guys wear in the Caribbean.

Otherwise, wear them if you like them, and a big FU to people who think they know what's best for others. Smash those gender roles!

I knew there was something odd about the button on those pants. I never really noticed which way pants button but now that I think about it.

I my opinion they look slightly feminine with the pure white color, the cut, and the buttom. I personally would not wear them but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. Depending on the situation, you may find a time to wear them. I am oblivious to anything fashion however, so I probably don't have the best advice. My idea of fashion is jeans and a t-shirt and I don't care a bit about anyone else's opinion. It saves a lot of time and money not worrying about clothes. So, forget everyone's opinion and buy what feels right.

Guys aren't really supposed to wear 3/4 length pants unless they are supposed to be shorts that are just really baggy, in which case they are supposed to look like oversized shorts and not like they are supposed to be 3/4 length pants.

I would have thought that some things to consider when planning for whatever reason to wear women's trousers would be to check to see if the crotch isn't too 'restrictive' (having been designed for a person with less equipment in that general area), that the waist and bum isn't too obviously designed for a woman, and that there aren't any pink hearts on the back.

I wouldn't wear pants at all, though, so don't ask me.

Always consult your calendar before wearing; and always have a hoodie or something similar you can roguishly tie around your waist.

Well, I am pretty fashion conscious and my answer would be hell no! Not if u want to retain the image of being a straight man. Besides, they are almost transparent, really no one should be wearing them in public. Maybe to accompany a bathing suit as a cover up, other than that, it's a "Damn does he really have on womens pants & asking me for a date?" Of course she won't tell u that. She'll probably tell u she studying, or needs to wash her hair, or she'll be busy watching cucumbers dry for a special salad that weekend, lol. Well look, don't b offended...u asked ;0) In the Nation of Squirters we would laugh at ya,lol.
