I listen to huge amounts of music.. Yet there is some places on my 20 Gig Ipod.. that are still waiting to grace my ears.
and there is a few podcasts that are waiting in-line to entertain me.

My dad's buddy had it. Stopped after a month because only the stand up comedy channel was any good. After a month, you've heard every joke twice.
Truck drivers listen to XM/Sirius, I know some that have both.

Some hotels get it for free,
and some Car/truck Companies give you a limited time free (one year?), but that is because they get it free from XM/Sirius.
Its like AoL, comes preinstalled with 3 months free on some computers.

I have it. I like it better then terrestrial radio as it's not censored by the FCC.
My kid loves the kid music channel. It's great she can get music and not be pounded with advertising for the latest crap toy or the new sugar bomb cereals....

Eh, I've never bothered. Normal advertising radio works just fine and dandy for me.

Nothing special. I like the current channels that exist.
I have Sirius and love it. Originally got it for the English football (not easy to get otherwise in my neck of the woods), but have fallen in love with it. I've had it for about 8 months now, and have yet to listen to anything else in the car...

I personally hate waiting for my favorites to come up ... I had it for 6 months trial in my car when I got it and personally with what I listen to they played things I liked about as often as terrestrial radio... personally I will stick with my personal music collection (somewhere over 19 thousand songs right now)
It's better than all of the FM stations out there. No commercials, and the music's organized better so you can listen to what you want. And $10/month is nothing; that's pocket change when compared to what you get in return.

I only have 318 songs. And my HDD is still almost full.

Just imagine how long Amarok would take to load with a collection like that.
The plan is to have just over a terabyte too, maybe. We'll see. I also want to get a lapy, and don't know if I can afford both and a car and tuition.

I live in a city with a decent morning radio program, so there's no need for Sirius or XM. I would consider getting one for the sports packages and if I went on long drives, but I really don't, especially considering the price of gas...
I heard there was also a bill in Congress (that's probably since died) that would grant the FCC content control over satelliute radio AND TV as well as cable TV (I think cable/satellite TV presently regulate themselves.) Imagine the look on Howard Stern's face if that bill were passed.

You can't even totem it, because Thunar would take too damn long to load your music directory.

You should be more worried about the death of watchable tv.
