Optimal Presidential Pairing (aka: who do you want to win their d and r primaries?)

So, who do you all think it would be best to have win the Democrat primary and who do you think would be best to win the Republican primary? Cookies for those who go out of their way to provide a rationale as to why they'd prefer this contest in particular.

Personally, I'm all for a Giuliani-Obama showdown. Neither of them is a Clinton or a Bush (I've had enough of Presidents with familial relations to recently past Presidents) and both are first rate candidates.

A Newt/Guiliani ticket would do the trick, I'd say.

Edit: For the democrats, anything involving Obama, 'cause he's a rank amateur, and will be steamrolled. :)

IF I were a dem, Hillary/Richardson would probably have the best chance of winning.

But, since i'm not my ideal would be Thompson/Guiliani.

I would like to see an Obama/Edwards Democrat Ticket, and a Paul/McCain Republican ticket.

I would like to see an Obama/Kucinich campaign because not only would I like to see a man younger than 50 be president, I appreciate Obama's consistency on the Iraq war, amongst many other things. I like Kucinich because of his Peace policies, including more support for the United Nations and sending peacekeepers to Iraq if the Iraqi's desired thier presence. I also applaud his efforts to create a United States Department of Peace.

McCain and Paul because they are against the curtailing of civil and human rights (as well as torture) which were catalysed by the War on Terror. This is compared to Guilani who likes to continue to play the 9-11 card, capitalising on the very terror Al-Qaida propogates, and Mitt "The Deciever" Romney who wants to double Guantanamo.

I don't however agree with Ron Paul on his opposition towards international alliances such as NATO and the UN. American non-intervention causes more harm than good.

However, I realise a Paul/McCain ticket will be impossible until McCain realises American involvement in the Iraq war is near useless.

I don't think there is a single "serious" contender, on either side, who I would actually want to have for a president.

I'd love to see somebody like Newt or Guiliani run on the R side, simply because it would be a nail in the coffin of the "family values" agenda. All the bullshit about "defending the family" by banning gay marriage kind of falls apart when your front man is an open adulterer.

Of all the GoOpers in this election, only Paul is even mildly stomachable. The rest are the worst kind of Republicans (Far-Right Hacks). However, I'd love to have any of them run, since none of them can win.

Obama is my candidate for the Dems, but any of the three frontrunners can pound the 'Pubs, according to most polls, and Edwards would be a fine choice. Hillary is better than she's been cast as by the media, but after the debate, the people working for her started to really make me uncomfortable with her campaign.

Im thinking Obama/Edwards for dems, cause obama has the popularity and the black vote and edwards has the charm.

for the republicans the ideal is Giuliani/Brownback. Giuliani will carry the moderates and NY while Bownback has conservative and Religious right backing. he also may gain the hispanic vote if he pushes that he is a praciting Catholic.

Edwards/Richardson or Obama/Richardson for the Dems.

I think Mrs. Clinton is a fine Senator and should stay one. Like a poster above I am tired of the Bush and Clinton families.

For the Repubs:

Giuliani/Paul or Giuliani/Thompson.

But I will not vote for a Republican until the more libertarian forces regain sway in the party, and send the evangelical/neocons packing for good.

For the Dems, a Kucinich/Nader ticket would be ideal. Everyone else is too right-wing.

For the Repubs, a Romney/Brownback (or the reverse) ticket would be good, because they're extreme.

Ideally, extremists on both ends would make people consider voting for third parties and be a step in the direction of getting people out of the 'lesser of two evils' mindset.

Gotta agree with you on the Giuliani-Obama showdown. Obama seems to have potential, but might be a bit light on experience. Giuliani, not because of anything to do with 9/11, but because of the way he cleaned up NYC (thinking Times Square) prior to 9/11.

My ideal Republican ticket: Paul/Tancredo

NO! NO YOU FOOL! Take it from someone who has Tancredo as his "representative" in Congress...he's an idiot who should never be given any type of power whatsoever! He's a racist jerk that just pounds on "those ebil illegal immigrants" all day long without thinking about anything else.

Anyway, for me:

Obama/Richardson

Paul. Yes, by himself, because I can't stomach anyone else on the ticket. Luckily, no one there has any real chance of being victorious against someone like Obama, so yay.

...it's the way he does it, the way he keeps harping specifically about Mexican illegals or other illegals that aren't white. I'm against illegal immigration myself, but he is such a disgusting fool...I've voted against him thrice and yet he still keeps going into office. He is not fit to be a leader of a freaking tug boat, let alone the entire country, and if he is somehow elected...I'm leaving.

That's why Fred Thompson is my favorite at the moment. He plays a responsible looking character on TV. I figure that's at least as good as someone who starred with an ape called Bonzo.

Kucinich is slightly socialist, if that. Learn the real definition.

Obama/Kucinich or Edwards - I'm an Obama man, and I like the lefter-than-thou Kucinich. Edwards has a better shot.

Romney/Newt - Screws the Republicans with their own mysterious background flip-flopper in Rmoney.

And if that happens I think the entire country will groan and moan in disgust. Colbert and Stewart are fantastic comedians...but something tells me that they wouldn't do so well as leaders of the country.

It'd be the most hilarious administration ever, though...I wonder if that alone would be worth it...

It would get scary if they alternated between who got to make decisions if Colbert stayed in-character.

"Today congress passed a bill legalizing abortion in all states. It was signed into law by President Stewart."
"Also, Vice President Colbert whisked his black friend away to an undisclosed location, citing security threats."

I'd like to see Dick Cheney get the Republican nod. I know he isn't running, but if he were the candidate he'd almost certainly loose the general election, and even if he didn't, he'd be dead soon.

I'd like John Edwards to win the Democratic nomination for an even more bizarre and twisted reason. I think he'd make a good president.

Dems:Hillary/Edwards. 2 Established Orthodox Democrats with actual policies (no offense, but I don't think Obama has as much of a chance as people think he does. 2012 would be much better)

Reps:McCain/Romney. A president who actually knows something about war and a moderate, realistic, and practical republican.

Anyone but Clinton?

She reminds me of Thatcher (in the bad authoritarian sense, not the, rather better economic sense).

OK so do most US presidential candidates but she's more retarded than most about it.

Plus she's a Clinton and you guys seem to have a dynastic presidency within the Bush family as it is...
