The US government spent millions of dollars and thousands of man hours over a year and a half to hunt down smugglers of a substance, khat, that hasn't even been declared illegal. Obviously, almost all charges brought up have been thrown out and those that are holding up are probably not going to cost any one jailtime.
Apparently the US Drug Enforcement Administration has nothing better to do than enforce the US' asinine drug policy intentions across three continents and chase down "smugglers" of "drugs" that apparently only the US thinks is the most dangerous substance ever.
