I have come to believe, after posting several, that this forum is not the place for music polls. In fact, no forum is the place for music polls. Actually, as far as I can tell, practically nobody wants to talk seriously about music these days, it's become some sort of solipsistic relativist thing, like religion, which nobody wants to debate seriously in case people get offended.
Nevertheless, as a music fan and a human being, I feel impelled to make this final enquiry.
So what, NSG folks, is your favourite Ramones album?

(I obviously don't have room for them all... I hope my selection doesn't annoy too many people... apologies to fans of Mondo Bizarro and Adios Amigos.)

So, what's it got to do with cricket or football in Brisbane?

I just like the Ramones period. As far as I am concerned they are the best British punk band ever. Even better than the Sex Pistols.

Is that "best British punk band" remark a joke aimed at UK punk, or are you genuinely unaware that the Ramones were from Queens, NYC?

I've only heard the first two, Road To Ruin, and End of the Century, and of them, Road To Ruin was the best.

I hate to point this out... no I don't, who am I kidding, I'm a proud pedant... they were the Ramones' FOURTH and FIFTH albums respectively. The poll is their first eight in chronological order.
Road To Ruin's my favourite, too.

Edit: oh, sorry, you meant you'd heard the first two AND RTR and EOTC.
In which case, get Rocket To Russia, you will not regret it.

Are the "y" and "w" keys next to each other on your computer?

My brain only works at partial capacity when I don't have caffiene in my system... and right now I can't drink anythign with caffeine because it has been raising my blood pressure substantially. I have no farking idea what I'm talking about half the time... like right then.

Anyway, The Damned are the best British punk band.

Pleasant Dreams is a much-underrated album, and their last stone-cold classic (though Too Tough To Die is very good too), I'd make that your second priority.

Hmmm... best British punk band? I'd say maybe the Clash or the Jam, but in both cases their best work is arguably not really punk... so the Damned sounds like a good bet actually. Or maybe the Buzzcocks.

Rilly? (http://www.thelin.net/laurent/musique/ramones/)

It was not a serious suggestion. I just wish people didn't make banal posts... then follow them up with additional banal posts when people point out that their posts are banal. But then I guess some people are just idiots. What can you do? It's quite funny sometimes, I suppose.

NSG can't even agree on what "agnostic" means, who could possibly be the arbiter of the banal?

1. This is so fucking the place for music polls.
2. You could've done an "Other" option
3. You needed Brain Drain and Acid Eaters.

Mondo Bizarro should've been on the list, as it's their third-best album, right behind Rocket To Russia.

Their best? Oh, Road To Ruin, easily. The whole record is magic, and It's A Long Way Back is one of the best closers ever, period.
