I agree with the sentiments of this article wholeheartedly. Jerry Falwell was a complete dick and it irks me that CNN is celebrating his "legacy," as if pining for a homosexual holocaust is something to celebrate.

Jerry Falwell. Discuss.

If you really don't care, maybe you shouldn't make yet another thread about it.

If I remember correct, it looks like God finally made that collect call to Jerry.

Its just an recalling when he drummed up some funds that he was trying to fleece his church goers for more money.

IF THERE IS AN AFTERLIFE, I WOULD NOT WANT TO SEE IS EXPLAINATION TO THE HIGHER POWER IS GOING TO BE......I ONLY HAVE ONE THING TO SAY OUCH TO BE HIM......

If hell has an express lane... Jerry Fallwell took it. If it don't, they put one there for him.

I heard that he died of cardiac arrhythmia, caused by clogging of the arteries. One Doctor was quoted as saying "I told him, i said, 'Jerry, all that spunk you drink from the young philipino boys just isn't doing your heart any good, they drink too much coconut milk and it makes their cum fatty'. He just laughed and replied ' when if the cream of some young guy isn't good good for me then fuck it, God's on my side, I'm the fucking king of the world!!'

He is to be buried face down with his arse sticking out of the ground for physical relief for passers by or just for somewhere to park your bike.

That is one of the most complete insults I have ever read. Congratulations!

Too bad there aren't cameras in Hell, I would broadcast live pictures of his eternal torment in Hell to his former flock.

All for a nominal fee, of course.

I would publicise it as Jerry's gone to hell to redeem souls. The fools would likely buy it and I would be RICH at Falwell's expense.

Brilliant!

We all know that Falwell's passing is a good thing. So lets figuratively dance on his grave and move on.

im more intrigued by the idea of jerry not going to heaven but instead haunting the halls (if it has halls) of liberty university. the lost soul not being able to find its way to the afterlife seems fitting for him.

Hmm, his disembodied spirit wandering around, unable to do anything, say anything, or attempt to control anything or affect anything. Forced to forever watch as the world slowly rids itself of his intolerant, hateful message. Feminists speaking publically and he can only watch, civil unions become legal everywhere and he can't oppose them...

Good God you're cold.

Yeah Falwell is down there with Roy Cohen being tormented by the people he hurt. That or he'll be reincarnated as a black lesbian who needs an abortion.

Intresting story: I just finished watching Angels in America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angels_in_America) when I heard he died. I wonder if Jerry was ever Roy's butt boy!

Well, at first I thought Jerry Falwell's death could be a sign that there really was a god, but then I thought, if that were true, why did Jerry Falwell exist in the first place?

Yes, let's be the "moral elite" and celebrate his death.

No one is beyond redemption. I regret his death because it means the potential for turning loads of people who listen to him away from the idiocy of extreme religious fundementalism and towards a more open, accepting of all peoples path is gone. Had we changed him for the better and encouraged him to spread that change to all who listened to him, we'd be a lot better off.

No one is beyond redemption.

Undoubtedly it would have been better if Jerry Falwell had redeemed himself than if he had died.

But since the chances of his redemption were close to nothing, the end of this disgusting hatemongering bigot is probably a good thing. It means that one very effective purveyer of a despicable and immoral ideology is no longer capable of doing so.

I still think it would have been worth trying. I am convinced that no one is beyond redemption, no matter what form that redemption must take(even those who have mental illnesses as yet uncurable, such as psychopathy, are only a cure away from their own redemption) and as such, I'd have done my best to turn Jerry Falwell into a kinder man.

But, you may be correct...it might have been futile. Even so...

God fucked up?

I thought he was infallible. And even if he was almost close to infallible, he still has got a lot of 'splaining to do if he does exist. War, Famine, Paul Wolfowitz...

No, I cannot take credit for that last part.

I DON'T REALLY BELIEVE GOD SCREWS UP, IT IS US WITH THE FREEDOM OF CHOICE, IT IS OUR CHOOSING TO DO SUCH AND NOT LIVE AS WE SHOULD ENLIGHTENED BEINGS DOING GOOD WILL, INSTEAD WE ARE SMALL MINDED, SCARED, LIMITED, SHALLOW, UNEXCEPTING, UNFORGIVING, BEINGS.

We could be what we wish ourselves to be, but we do not know our own greatness and we struggle against ourselves....
