Agreed
As a side note I think it would be neat to post what you plan on doing for mothersday
For me I picked up 8 of the biggest top sirloin cuts that I could get my hands on from the local meat market got the grill all ready to go and some red potatoes and some good seasoning ready to go for tomarrow
Oh and some imported guniess extra stout

We sent my mom a plant and my mother-in-law a floral arrangement. We would have met with my mother-in-law for lunch or dinner, but she has to work tomorrow. My mom lives too far away to even try and plan to see her, so she gets a gift and a phone call. =)

it all most finish for me
Mom got a new pair of slippers and a phone call (Being 5,000 miles away kinda limits what you can do).
Mother-in-law got some beautiful flowers.
And Soon-To-Be-A-Mommy got her favorite flowers because I need to get into practice of helping my kid buy stuff for his mom until he gets old enough to pick them out himself. ;)

Mom won't let us get anything for her without getting it approved by Dad, who is a spendthrift, so rather than doing something cool, I'm making breakfast for her. How cliche.

Thanks. Er, I'll donate the cigar to someone. ;)

Today I celebrated Mother's Day with my dad's side of the family at a restaurant. My mother's side is celebrating tomorrow, but I can't go since I have finals to study for.
I was going to take my mother out for lunch... then my entire paycheck was taxxed until nothing was left!

You're going to have to rename her Mary-Billy or Anne-Jo, or one of those stereotypical things. How does she feel about 'Cletus'?
:D

Oh dear. She better start practising now. I remember when our oldest girl started losing teeth (or, as I delicately put it for her amusement, when 'her head started falling apart'), and she had to learn to compensate for some very peculiar new oddities of speech. :)
Of course... with Annie Oakley, having a few teeth missing might actually be a good thing. She's very dedicated to her art. :)

My Dad and I brought my Mom breakfast in bed. My Dad cooked toast and sausage and I made scrambled eggs. My brothers didn't help at all because they like to sleep in...
Anyway, happy mother's day!:)

I sent a card. My obligations end there.
Uh, thanks for reminding me. I just called her. Was overdue anyway..
.. nah, that's not as cold as it sounds; my family doesn't really celebrate Mother's Day. Or father's day, for that matter.

Umm, today isn't Mother's Day.
Is, too, in Germany.. which is all that counts, as you very well know.

Good luck with that, Dempublicents. I'm sure you'll make a great mom. :)
Now, I must state my official dislike for the fact that Mother's Day was a holiday created by card companies to earn more money and somehow became widely accepted.

Okay, that's over. Happy Mother's Day, all mothers!

Heh, my birthday was on mothers day this year. [/attentionwhoring]

Thanks! We still have a while before we start actively trying though. I think the earliest I could possibly do it will be when I'm actually spending most of my time working at home - writing my thesis. And we [i]probably[i] should even wait later than that, until I have a well paying post-doctorate job.
I've been wanting to be a mommy for years now though. LOL

.. and I find it worrying that I thought of that earlier than I thought of it being Mother's Day. Ah, well. :]

Considering how much I just spent on a box of Chocolates... the Confectionary industry also had a hand in it. :p
